*Chris' POV*

The rest of the day, I thought my phone was about to blow up. It seemed like every millisecond, I would get a new notification, whether it be from random texts, emails,  Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, all of it was making my phone go berserk. And just when I thought some of them were important, they were all congratulating Darren and I on our engagement. Good thing I only have to go through this once in life.

Besides using all my willpower NOT to break my phone in half all day, Darren and I spent some quality time together today. We watched a movie, played UNO, and went for a walk around town. To everyone else, my day sounds just as boring as watching paint dry, but in my eyes, there was no other way I would have rather spent my day. We wanted to go out and grab dinner at one of our favorite diners downtown, but being out in public meant that we could get flooded by fans and media and we didn't want to deal with that, especially after our engagement and today's events. Instead, we stopped at the grocery store and picked up three boxes of mac and cheese. We were able to get in and out quickly without getting stopped by anybody, which I guess was kind of lucky, considering everyone is panicking over toilet paper and hand sanitizer at the moment so there's people all over the store throwing anything they find appetizing into their shopping carts (Brought in a little bit of my reality into that last line lol thanks coronavirus). We hurried home as fast as we could, which took a bit because of the idiots in the grocery store parking lot that forgot how to park and made our mac and cheese.

"So I've been thinking..." Darren says as he sets his bowl of mac and cheese down on the kitchen table and sits down.

"What have you been thinking about in that crazy little brain of yours." I reply chuckling.

"What you should be asking is what am I NOT thinking about in this crazy little brain of mine."

I laugh. "But actually, what have you been thinking about?"

"I've actually been thinking about adopting?"

"Adopting what? A dog? Cat? Some form of reptile?"

"No, silly. A child. Like, a really small child that still hasn't learned to crawl yet."

"Wait, seriously?"

"Yes, seriously. You know I've always wanted to be a parent, and we can't necessarily reproduce together, so adoption is probably our best option in order for us to become parents."

I frown. "I know you want to be a parent, trust me, I do too. But I think we should wait until after our wedding until we adopt."

His slight smile drops. "I thought this is what you wanted."

"It is what I want. But I think we should wait until after the wedding so we don't have to deal with the stress of the wedding planning, adoption, and possibly if we decide to move like we've been thinking about doing."

Darren lets out a sigh. "I guess your right, we don't need the stress of a child to add onto the stress of what's to come." He looks down at his bowl of mac and cheese and begins stirring it with his spoon. I get up from my chair and wrap my arms around his neck from behind.

"I'm sorry I had to let you down, baby. I know how much you love kids, but I feel like one would make everything so crazy, it would be unbearable, especially like a kid as young as you said you wanted."

"It's okay, we'll have kids someday. We have our whole future ahead of us, there will be plenty of better times to look into adopting."

I release Darren from my arms and head back to my seat to eat my mac and cheese. We ate our dinner in silence, which gave me time to think. Darren went through the struggles of proposing, and I need to return the favor, so maybe I could try and find a child to adopt without him knowing. It sounds impossible to try and keep a secret, but if Darren was able to keep the proposal a secret, then I can keep this one. I think I'll start looking once we have a wedding date set...

Hey Guys!

Soooo, a little thing about that bit of reality I mentioned earlier in the chapter, what I said about the grocery store thing is 100% correct. There's literally nothing on the shelves and in the freezers and there's ALWAYS some idiot that makes the entire parking lot crazy and backed up. I am currently stuck sitting at home with nothing to do until at least early April because the coronavirus, so I think you guys can expect some new chapters on ALL FOUR of my published stories (well, maybe not as often on Champions and Falling for the Unknown as much as this one and For my Father, but I'll still put something out) because I have too much time on my hands thanks to this virus ruining basically everything.

Until next time...
