A knock at the door causes Brody's eyelids to fly open. His hand that holds tightly to the gun between the mattress and headboard automatically raises. The man looks frantically in the pitch black dark. Another knock makes his heart race. Brody rises up and walks over to the door, his gun raised. His heart pounds harder with every beat.

With his hand on he handle, Brody takes one more deep breath in before opening the door. The man freezes when he sees Molly standing there in a cotton robe with torn pockets. Relief and annoyance fills him, putting his gun on safety.

Molly arches a brow at him, her skinny arms crossing. "What were you going to do? Shoot me?"

"The hell do you want?" Brody grumbles tiredly, annoyance clear in his voice and eyes.

The blonde shrugs, looking off. "Just came by to see how you were doing."

The dreamy eyed man narrows his cool blue eyes at her. "Bullshit."

Molly heavily sighs, rolling her eyes. "Fine. I just couldn't help but notice how fast you got over Dominique."

Brody freezes, giving her a death glare. "Are you fucking kidding me? Are you fucking kidding me! Let it go, Molly. Just let it the fuck go! It's been a damn year!"

"And yet you didn't hesitate to let a new, pretty face sit in your lap." The blonde with a flawless complexion says with a cold smile, "Did you notice the clothes I gave her? Huh? Recognize them?

Brody's face goes white. "Thanks for the reminder."

"Does it even kill you anymore? Does it not keep you up at night?" Molly taunts him angrily, her blue eyes fiery.

"Shut up!" The dreamy eyed man gets in her face angrily, shutting the bedroom door so they won't disturb Elle. "You don't understand anything that happened that morning!"

"Dominique was my best friend!" Molly spats at him with tears rolling down her cheeks.

"And she was the love of my life!" Brody's face is tight, stoney.

They are both silent for a long time. Brody puts his hands on his hips, sighing heavily as his head drops. His eyes to the floor.

"Dominique made her decisions...she knew the risk." Brody slowly nods, his tired eyes filled with pain. "I was following orders."

"Keep telling yourself that, you murderer!" Molly's words are cold, tears rolling down her cheeks.

Brody shakes his head, turning away from Molly. He starts to go inside when Molly's voice stops him.

"How can you even live with yourself over what you've done?" Then Molly is gone.

That morning, Brody had thrown all of her clothes Molly had given Elle in the trash and refused to let Elle take them out. She was forced to wear her denim skirt and one of his plaid shirts. The brown eyed blonde wondered what she had done to cause his rage and aggression. He didn't speak to her after he yelled at her to "never touch those again".
