"I need details about your time in 'the closet'. Is Thomas a good kisser?" Abby asks as she curls her hair in the girls locker room.
We just got done with our early morning cheer rehearsal for the big football game in California next Monday. Normally football would be over, but we just kept winning. I'm going to have to drive with the football team and other cheerleaders down to Anaheim California for the national championships. Whether we win or lose, we will be spending an extra three days in California before we leave for Utah again the following morning. They won't tell us what we will be doing in California for the three days, but I'm excited either way.
I just wish Bree could come with me. I still haven't had time to tell her that Thomas is now going to my school. And that he kissed me. She wasn't home when I got home last night, and she didn't wake me up. Thomas did. I still can't believe he came to my house and had me sneak out just so he could make me doubt my own feelings.
I want to be disgusted at Abby's question, but if I said no I would be lying.
"If you must know, yes, he is. I also think you should know that he is single and ready to mingle, if you know what I mean." I reply as I throw on my Nike Air sweatshirt I wore last night and my leggings.
"Wait, you guys didn't get together?" Meadow asks.
"Nope. I told you, I'm not ready to dive into the dating pool yet." I reply.
"But you guys look like the supreme couple, you're freaking gorgeous and he's so freaking hot."
"Meadow, he's all yours. I'm sure he'd be thrilled to have a girlfriend as pretty as you."
"But I have no chance."
"She's actually kinda right," Chelsea adds, "after you came out of the closet, he would only speak highly of you and told everyone who asked that you were an amazing kisser. He also told everyone of how beautiful you are and how much he is already beginning to like you."
Beginning to like me. It's almost like we've been together before.
"Look guys, he's sweet, and he may be a good kisser, but I just don't want to jump into something like that yet." I admit as I begin to clean up my makeup and hair products.
"When will you be ready? You keep saying you're not ready yet, but when will you finally be able to say, 'You now what? I would like to be your girlfriend, thanks for asking.'" Chelsea notes.
She's got a point. I've been saying the same thing since I broke up with Thomas. Did he really curse me to only be with him? If only my life would slow down, I would be able to really take some time and think through my life's decisions and what I really want for once.
"I'm not sure, but I'm sure when the time comes, I'll know." I explain as I put my cheer backpack on.
Suddenly, I feel my phone vibrate. I look at my phone and see a text from Peter.
Peter: You free today? You can come over to my house to work on the chemistry project if you want to.
Me: Sure, I'll come over. What time works for you?
Peter: All day works for me. Whenever you want to come.
Me: I will head over in maybe like 20 minutes. I haven't eaten yet today because I just had cheer.
Peter: I can whip up something for you if you'd like
I laugh a little at that last text.
Me: Alright, thank you. I don't have your address...
