When I hear my alarm going off, I groan. It feels like I've only been asleep for 2 minutes. I turn off my alarm and roll out of bed. I throw on another Nike sweatshirt, a black one, and throw my hair in a messy bun. I smile as I look at my hair. My messy buns are Thomas' favorite. I throw on light mascara, because I've never really needed that much makeup, and hurry upstairs for breakfast.
Most of my friends have dedicated parents who cook nice breakfasts for them. Meadow's mom either orders Kneaders breakfast or makes a delicious meal for her before school. Same with Mailie's parents. My mom never did. The most she ever made us was cracked wheat, which literally doesn't take any exertion from her.
I grab an apple like I have done every day for the past month or two, grab my backpack, and hurry out the door. I haven't had time to pack a lunch or eat breakfast for months, which isn't great when you're super tired already.
I drive to school, wondering how things will be with Thomas there. I've seen him this weekend, but we've never seen each other at school. Will he have classes with me? If he does, will he want to be partners on projects? I'll be spending more time with him which will give him more time to make me fall for him, which I cannot do again.
I pull into the parking lot and am startled when I hear someone honk at me. I look into the direction of the noise and see Peter waving in his car. I roll my eyes and continue to find a parking spot. I pull into a spot and grab my apple. I bite into the rough red skin and finally make it to the spongey juicy core of the apple.
I feel my phone vibrate, so I pick it up and see a message.
X: Good morning, I'm in the school and have no idea where my classes are. Would you mind showing me around?
Me: Morning, and sure. Where are you?
I grab my backpack, apple, phone, and get out of my small car and shut the door. I'm walking to the doors of the school when I feel my phone buzz again.
X: At the front doors. I didn't dare go any further.
His comment makes me laugh. He's smart for not going further.
Me: 😂 On my way
I slip my phone into the side pocket of my leggings and finally reach the front doors of the school. Thomas was telling the truth; he is standing right by the doors.
"Morning Taylor." he smiles as I approach him.
"Morning. Stressed for today?" I ask.
He nods, "I have no idea what this means." He points to his schedule. I read it over.
Engineering II W1406
Physics W2206
AP Calculus W1206
Spanish W1402
Robotics W2204
English W1204
Seminary Off Campus

"Wow. You are taking some rough classes." I marvel as I look at his schedule.
He shrugs, "Well, engineering takes a lot of math and science courses."
I look at his schedule and say, "Okay, so our school is actually really easy to figure out once you know how its set up. So this side of the school," I point to the side to our left, "is the west side of the school and this side," I point to the right of us, "is the east side of the school."
"Okay, makes sense."
"So, on your schedule, you have a letter before the room number on your schedule. And on your schedule, all of them are W's which means you will stay on the west side of the school."
