Chapter 14: Sleepover (Princess' Side)

Princess’ Side

 I am already rushing home when I see dad and Andy waving at me. 

“What are you doing here?” I ask them.

“Well, Andy wanted to buy a new movie since the CD that I bought yesterday turns out to be a computer game.” Dad tells me. So that’s where the CD came from.

“Andy’s looking for the movie ‘Poptropica’ but we can’t find it anywhere.” Dad says.

“Dad, that is a website! Of course you won’t find it.” I tell him while trying my best not to laugh. He stares at Andy.

“Well, thanks for telling me sweetheart.” He tells me. “Mind coming with us to the store?” he asks.

“Okay, I’m heading home anyways.” I tell him.

Then Andy begins pulling my arm off.

“Where’s daddy?” he asks. Is that a trick question?

“I want daddy Vince.” He tells me. Oh.

“You promised that you’d ask him to play with me! Maybe he could come over for our popcorn night!” Andy says, excitedly.

“Yes but we can’t invite him to come over. Dad would never agree for a boy to stay at our house for the night.” I tell Andy and the I turn to my dad.

“Right dad?” I ask.

Andy then does puppy dog eyes at my dad which is so unfair.

“Well, Andy wants him to stay so I guess he’s a good person. I could trust him.” Dad tells me.

Whaaaaat? No! This can't be happening right now!

Things couldn’t get much worse than this.

I am once again proven wrong when suddenly Vince appears behind me. Andy rushes to him and then hugs him.

“I missed you too little guy.” Vince tells Andy. Then Vince greets my dad politely.

“You are a nice boy, just like Andy said.” He starts telling Vince. “Would you like to join us for a movie marathon tonight?” he asks him.

I turn to Vince mouthing “No. Please don’t.”

He smirks.

“I know this is kind of sudden but please consider. It seems that Andy really loves having you around.” My dad tells Vince.

“I’d love to come, sir but I’m just bothered about going home at a late hour.” Vince says.

“Well, you could sleepover at our place.” My dad suggests. Vince glances at me and then smirks.

No. This must be a nightmare. A terrible nightmare. I should wake up... now.

“I’ll just call my mom.” He tells us. After a while, Vince returns, smiling.

“My mom agreed. She’d just bring my school clothes and other stuff later. May I have the address so that I could text her?” he says. My dad gives him our address.

Seriously, why am I still not waking up?

“Thank you so much daddy.” Andy tells Vince. Vince pats his head. Then Vince glances at me.

Oh no. This isn't a nightmare. This is reality! Ugh! What have I gotten myself into?
