Chapter 13

Tris POV

*A couple weeks later*

I wake up to the sound of my alarm clock. Crap.

Today is the day initiates will jump. The first initiates to jump ever since the war.

I hear the shower running and feel that Tobias side of the bed is cold so I put two and two together. I walk out into the kitchen and start to make breakfast for us when I hear the shower stop. Tobias comes out shortly after.

"Goodmorning sweetheart." Tobias says as he pecks my lips.

"Morning!" I say, trying to keep positive, although it's way too early. Tobias senses that because he laughs.

We sit down at the table and eat our breakfast in a peaceful silence.

"So. Who do you think is going to jump first?" Tobias asks, mouth full of food. I laugh at him.

"I'm going to guess  Candor. They always want to proves themselves."

"I'm going with Erudite. They are eager to find out information."

I decide to make this a deal. "FIne. Whoever loses doesnt get to shower for a week." I say as I hold out  my hand.

Tobias looks at me with a quizzical face but then takes my hand firmly and shakes it. "You're on."

*15 minutes later*

As we head out the door, Tobias goes back for some dauntless cake to eat on the way. That's my boy.

We walk hand in hand to the net and I check my watch. They should be coming down in 5 minutes.

"So, are you ready to be stinky the rest of the week?" Tobias teases.

"Hmmmm why so confident Four? It's going to be a punishment for the both of us anyways." I laugh when I see the realization spread across his face.

"Wait.... I can't go that long without kissing you though."\

"You'll have to." I point and laugh. With that, Tobias picks me up and throws me over his shoulder. I pound on his back to let me down but he refuses, so I eventually give up. When he finally puts me down, he gives me a slow gentle kiss.

"That'll have to do I guess then." He says, and he turns back to the net.

As if one cue, we hear a blood curling scream and a blur hit the net.

It's a

amity girl.

Crap. Both of us were wrong.

Tobias looks over at me and smiles and proceeds to help the girl off of the net.

"You got a name?" Tobias asks.

"Yeah. It's Hannah Whateveryourlastnameis." The girl says as she smiles flirtaciously.

Oh no.

Tobias ignores her remark and yells "First jumper: Hannah! Welcome to Dauntless."

We decided that there is no use in keeping our relationship a secret, so Tobias comes over and gives me a passionate kiss. You should've seen the look on her face. Priceless.
