Chapter twenty

"Hey," a voice says behind me. I turn around and see his beautiful face smiling down to me. Jabu. I pull him in for a hug and immediately regret it when he hugs me tighter. What the hell is wrong with me?

"It's been long," I whisper into his neck. "I need to talk to you," he replies pulling away from the hug. My heart dropped. Talk? What did he want to 'talk' about? "Come to my dorm around 16:00," I reply. "I will," he says. I took the food for me and Ora and head back to the booth.

"You hugged Jabu," he says with jealousy. "You're going to Lebo's dorm later," I reply. I really wanted to know what was happening between the two of them but my stupid pride just didn't allow me to ask. We ate our meal in an awkward silence before heading to his car.

"Are you sure you wanna do this?" he asked me starting the engine. "I'm sure," I reply and look outside the window. Can't he just tell me what's happening between him and that whore? "Arg Maya, he can't read your mind," I say to myself. "Hey, you've been awfully quiet today," he says not looking at me. "I'm sorry. I just have uhm... I have a lot on my mind," I say looking at him.

He can't be fucking Lebo. If he is, and that's a big if, I'm gonna be very so hurt. I don't want him touching her. But what if he already has?

Minutes later, he says, "my dad is gonna marry Lebo's dad." Wait. His dad is gay? Lebo's dad is also gay? I love homosexual people. "Why didn't you tell me?" I ask feeling stupid for thinking that they had something going on. "I thought that you wouldn't want to know," he says. So now he thinks for me? Don't get mad. Don't get mad. DON'T GET MAD. "Oh okay," I say. "I should've told you," he says looking at me. "Yeah. You should've," I reply and look out of the window again.

We get to the doctor and he prescribes contraceptive pills for me. When we got to campus, me and Ora went to my dorm and I fell asleep while we were watching a movie on Netflix.

I wake up and he was closing the door. "Hey, who was that?" I ask. "Oh uhm... Brooklyn came to check if Lesedi is here," he replies. He pulls me to him and hugs me. "I'm sorry," I say. My body begins to tremble and I cry. "For what?" he asks hugging me tighter. "For thinking that you were busy with Lebo," I sob. "Shh. It's okay," he assures me. We lay in the bed and he rubs my back.

"Chomi, kere byao!" Lesedi's loud voice yells. What the hell was going on? "I have to meet Lebo. Bye," Ora kisses my forehead. Lesedi was on the phone with only God knows who. She was practically screaming into the phone. I felt so sorry for the person she was speaking to. "I'll call you later. Shapo," she says and hangs up.

"So.... where were you?" I ask out of curiosity. "Me, Brooklyn and Bonolo just went out for some drinks," she replies. Brooklyn? But she was here a while ago. Maybe when they came back, they all went separate ways. Maybe Lesedi disappeared and Brook was looking for her.

"What time is it?" I ask her. "It's 17:23. Why?" she replies. Jabu was supposed to come. Why didn't he? I pull out my phone and see a text from him.

Jabu: Wow Maya.
Me: What?
Jabu: You said that you want nothing to do with me. All I wanted to do was talk.
Me: You didn't even come.
Jabu: Yes I did.
Me: You didn't!
Jabu: Ora opened the door and told me that you want nothing to do with me. I can't believe you're fucking that dickhead.
Me: He what?
Jabu: Exactly that. He even told me that you're sleeping because he has just made you cum.
Me: Please tell me you're lying.
Jabu: I'm not. Why would I be?
Me: Well, he lied to you. And he told me that it was Brooklyn at the door.
Jabu; He lied?
Me: Yes.

I put my phone into my pocket before asking, "Lesedi, where's Lebo's dorm?" "Number 18. Across the 'party dorm'," she replies. I storm out of the room and march to her dorm. He even lied about who was at the door! What the hell is wrong with Ora. My hands were fists and I was beyond angry. He's such a dick!
