Madelaine's pov
I was pouring myself a bowl of cereal at nearly 2am because I was bored, hungry, and I can't sleep when I take 3 naps a day.
I had a very long day.
I had a few meetings with the producers for Riverdale and the rest of the cast.. we're gonna start shooting the new season now which means coming home at 4 in the morning ready to just pass out for days only to have to get up in the afternoon to do the same thing all over again.
It's tiring and let's not forget absolutely draining but being on set with my friends and playing Cheryl Blossom is the dream of a lifetime and I wouldn't trade it for anything.
As I dropped my spoon into the cereal I began to think of the mysterious person behind my wall. I don't like to assume but by the sound of the voice I'm pretty sure there is a man behind that wall.
Though the idea sends chills down my spine it also fills me with curiosity.. I know I probably shouldn't want to but I wanna know who's behind there.
Damn it, Lili has definitely been getting in my head. She'd love to be hearing this right now.
Just as I was about to go take my cereal with me to the couch I heard slight banging.. but more like hard knocks. I grabbed my bowl and walked over to the wall, I sat down on the floor with my cereal in my lap and took a deep breath.
"You knocked?" I cringed when realizing that I could've said something other than that.. I probably sounded like a sassy brat.
"Yeah uh, sorry if you were busy or something." The voice said.
I smiled a bit at their concern, "Wasn't busy, just made myself some cereal."
"Yeah, I heard the fridge. " he says with a small laugh coming through after.
"Did you need anything wall buddy?"
I heard a giggle through the wall which naturally tugged a smile onto my lips.
"I just.. I feel like I should talk to you more. Like I wanted to do it all day but I couldn't bring myself to. Plus I was pretty sure you were out for most of the day.. I heard the door close a couple times." They said.
I shoveled a spoon full of lucky charms into my mouth as I thought about a response. "Yeah.. I had a very busy day. Had a few meetings, came back home and took a few naps. Things like that."
"I kinda work from home, especially right now considering what I do." They replied.
"I understand, by the way do you mind if we keep our identities anonymous?"
"Yeah, I get it. Makes it more fun that way. But I can't keep calling you wall buddy forever." They said.
True.. hmm.. code names could work. And I could also figure out their gender if they identify with one while I'm at it.
"Do you like the idea of code names?"
"That sounds pretty fucking perfect to be honest." They replied.
"Okay.. you first."
After a few seconds of me eating another spoonful of cereal the person behind the wall finally answered.
"Constantine." They replied.
"Like Constantine the great?"
"I dont know who that is actually." They replied back.
"The first Roman emperor to comvert to christianity."
"Wow, you just knew that from the top of your head?" They asked.
"History was my favorite subject in school."
"That's awesome, I was more into reading and ELA though." They said.
"I was really good in that too."
"That's cool, but if you dont mind me asking and I dont mean to offend but what gender do you identify as? Can't tell through the wall and I'm not gonna assume from your voice." They said.
"Oh that's okay, I was thinking the same exact thing. I identify as female so she/her and I figured out a code name for you.. took me a minute."
"Alright, let's hear it." They say
"I went with Red, I think my spirit just really embodies the color red."
"I think it's cool. Nice to meet you Red, I identify as a male so he/him." He replies.
I smiled, Lili was right. There's a guy behind my wall.
"Well.. I should probably try and get some sleep, I have a long day ahead of me tomorrow."
"Good luck with your long day." He says
"Thanks, I'll need it." I said with a snort following quickly after.

"We'll talk later?" He asked, the hope in his voice was dripping.
"Yeah, I'll have to go to work at about 3 but If you're not up by then I'll just bang on your wall at 3 or 4am."
"Fuck, what kinda job do you have?" He asked with a couple laughs coming through after.
"A very special one, that's for sure."
"Well me too, so I'll be up around that time aswell." He says
"Okay, goodbye Constantine."
"Goodbye, Red."
