Awsten's pov
"Awsten you probably shouldn't eat that many strawberries without paying for them." Geoff says as he snatches the package out of my hands and closes it shut.
"Geoff it's midnight, nobody at those registers are gonna pay attention to how many strawberries are missing from the package."
"You dont know that Aws, but if we get arrested because of your hungry ass I will personally murder you myself." Geoff says as he puts the package into the cart.
"You wouldn't hurt a fly." I scoffed as I pushed the cart down the fruit aisle.
"You're right, but my girlfriend will." Geoff said
"Yes because I'm so scared of Chloe"
"You shouldn't underestimate her, last time I did I got a bruised ass." Geoff said with a wince as he was probably reliving the memory.
"Ha! She kicked your ass, literally!"
"Shut up before I kick you in your ass." Geoff replied with a laugh following after.
"Oh please, you love me minion boy."
"Stop calling me that." Geoff whined which made me snort.
"You'll hear this for the rest of your life, Ge-Off." I said as I grabbed a package of blue berries and a bag of green grapes and put them into the cart.
"Yeah yeah, but hey what's going on with this girl you were talking about on the way here?" Geoff asked
"Oh, I made a friend."
"Okay, how'd you meet her?" Geoff asked as I pointed at things for him to grab for me as I pushed the cart.
"Funny story, I didn't."
"What do you mean?" He asked while he placed a bag of cherries into the basket.
"I mean.. I met her but not in person."
"Oh, so social media?" Geoff asked
"Nope. Grab some cookies over there for me while I get some chicken tenders will ya?"
Geoff nodded and ran off the find the cookies. After minutes of standing and waiting for the chicken tenders I finally walked back over to Geoff with a takeaway package in my hand.
"Where was I?"
"You we're talking about how you met a girl but didn't at the same time." Geoff said while walking through the food aisles.
"Right, okay so you know how many place has very thin fucking walls and how you can hear practically everything from one side?"
"Yes." Geoff said as he grabbed a box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Honey Nut Cheerios.
"Well.. I'm talking to her through a wall."
"Sounds... interesting." Geoff says
"It definitely is." I said while biting into a chicken tender. "You want a bite?"
"Gimme." Geoff said with his mouth held open. So as a good friend I fed him a bite of my chicken tenders. After he swallowed he began to speak again, "Okay so this girl, you know her name?"
"Ah, no. We use code names."
"So what's her code name?" Geoff asked
"Red."
"Okay and what's yours?" He asked
"Dont laugh."
"No promises." Geoff replied
"... Constantine."
"... you idiot you told her your middle name?" Geoff said as he laughed loudly.
"It's not like she knows, shut up you dickbag before you get us kicked out."
"Okay, but on a serious note." Geoff cleared his throat as he paused, "Be careful, you don't know who is actually behind that wall okay."
"I know Geoff, but what if she's not dangerous at all?"
"Still, be careful." He says
"Bu-"
"Awsten, you just got out of a horrible relationship 8 months ago, I just want you to look out for your heart, okay? I'm just thinking about possible things that could happen... and I dont want to see you hurt again.. it was too hard. Not knowing how to be there for you."Geoff says with a sadness lingering off of him. "Whether it's just friendship or later it turns it more.. just promise me you'll be careful."
I let out a sigh before walking over to Geoff and throwing my arms around him. His arms instantly tightened around my body and my face was hidden in his neck.
"I know Geoff, I'll be careful I promise."
The hug lasted a few more seconds and then we both pulled away. I took a few breaths before grabbing onto the cart.
"Let's finishing shopping so we can put this shit up when we get to my place."
"Let's get going then."
