A soft smile crossed Sting Eucliffe's lips as he woke up for the second day of the games. His cute little mate was safely tucked away in his arms and their cat, Lector, was snoozing on a pillow above their heads. Aika groaned as he shifted in the bed, trying to wrap his arms tighter around her and she snuggled into the mountain of blankets they were covered in. "I love you sting" she deliriously mumbled as her breath evened out and a stream of drool escapes her mouth.

"Yeah," his smile grew into a shit eating grin, "I know love"

"I'm surprised," Rufus acknowledged the couple as they arrived on the team balcony, "I didn't have to complain about you two being loud last night."

Sting smirked as he looked over to Aika, who was cooing at their sleeping cat in her arms. "Yeah, well I had some other instincts last night."

Truth be told, he did have some different instincts tugging at his heartstrings last night and it took everything in him to not take off and indulge in them. With the arrival of not just fairytail, but raventail as well, his lovely mate was under a lot of stress and broke down the moment they reached their shared room. He felt a stab of pain in his heart just thinking about it - she hadn't had an attack that bad since they were 14.

It scared him to see someone he put up on a pedestal in so much pain. It hurt him to see the one he loved, someone who he had witnessed build herself up from nothing, in so much pain. It angered him to think that people who had hurt his mate so badly in the past were running around the city, drunk and celebrating, as if nothing had happened.

He unconsciously bared his teeth as he glared over at the fairytail stand and flashed glances at raventail, gently taking Aika's dainty hand in his and leading her to a seat. He was itching to have a go at one of those fairy flies or one of the scumbags who worked for his beloved's father. He squeezed her hand and tried to remain as positive as possible, after all he would need some sort of plan to go after the two guilds.

And he knew just what he was going to do.

"Joining me once again is Mr. Yajima and our special guest, Sorcerer Weekly's Jason!" The commentator (whose name aika couldn't remember) yelled enthusiastically into the microphone. She heard a faint 'so cool!' echo around the arena afterwards as she took a sip of her scalding green tea, which Rogue had gotten for her as an excuse to go see Kagura.

"Let's get back to the action as our contestants take on the chariots! The point of this game is to reach the final goal without falling off. Simple, right? WRONG! The chariots are constantly in motion and though it's at snail's pace one wrong move could cost you!" The booming voice continued, "Which team will survive this rough game and be the first to cross the finish line?"

The siren slayer silently laughed to herself as Sting pecked her cheek and whispered a short, "Protect mate," before hesitantly walk down into the arena, a small piece of her wishing she could go with him.

He had volunteered for the first event of the day immediately after Natsu Dragneel, a man he had a vendetta against, said he would play. However, both dragon slayers did not think to listen to the name and point of the game before jumping into a chance at some action. Maybe if they had stopped and thought about the game's name for a second, the motion-sick slayers would have realized that their fight would take place atop a moving chariot.

Aika heard Rogue audibly wheeze as Sting dragged himself across the wooden chariots, with two first generation dragon slayers nipping at his heels. Her mate's eyes would randomly snap upward and meet hers every once in a while, probably just to make sure she was doing okay, and the two fairy flies behind him would try to use that as an opportunity to get ahead. A smile found its way onto Aika's face as her mate made a face at his competitors' behavior - she thought it was hilarious.

She continued to watch the match and stroked Lector's maroon fur as the three competing slayers conversed down below. She couldn't really make out any of what they were saying until she heard her mate's voice, full of hate and anger, spit out, "What happened to the Fairytail of my childhood, huh? The guild that was supposed to forge familial bonds - they weren't obsessed with their strength or how the world viewed them. The guild that was strong and did whatever the hell it wanted, followed no one's orders. What happened to the Fairytail I grew up knowing? What reason would you have for doing any of this?"

"The reason... is for our friends!"

Aika gasped as her fingers froze and her teacup hit the floor, the boiling hot tea it once contained hitting her legs. Her exceed immediately grabbed one of his mother's hands and sandwiched it between his tiny paws whilst Rogue enveloped the trio in a shadow to hide Aika from prying eyes. Her bright, cerulean eyes darkened as the fire dragon continued his speech, "The ones... who waited for us! For all the years we were gone. Who fought through the pain and the heartache! They were humiliated... but even so, they stayed strong and they kept our guild together. I don't know why you have a problem with me, but we're doing this for all of them! And we're gonna make sure that everyone here knows - THE FAIRYTAIL GUILD NEVER GAVE UP! NOT FOR AN INSTANT! SO THERE'S NO WAY IM GONNA GIVE UP NOW!"

The white dragon narrowed his eyes and calculated his options before leaping off the chariot and heading towards his mate. He could feel her going into overdrive and felt the overwhelming need to comfort her before she could get hurt anymore. He ignored the excited whispers of the crowd as he walked through the halls of the arena, fists clenched and arms shaking.

"For their friends," the couple muttered in unison, "That's bullshit."

So yeah, I finally updated woot woot! I genuinely do feel bad about how long it's taken me to update, but as I think I've mentioned before, I'm just not into this stuff anymore. However, I feel like I owe it to myself and to you guys to finish it, just so I can feel kind of accomplished, you know? Yeah anyways, I've taken so long because I'm sorting through some personal issues.

And no, I did not read this over I'm sorry if it makes no sense😂
