Soon after the conversation with Jiemma, the trio went back to their home. Aika, Rogue and the exceeds were planning to get to know each other – which didn't sit all that well with Sting.

He understood that his mate was her own person and that she deserved to have friends, but he didn't want to just leave her alone with Rogue and the exceeds.

'What if someone attacked? Was Rogue guaranteed to save her? Would his mate be absolutely safe?'

Thoughts like these spiraled through the white dragon's head as he held his mate's hand. The petite girl held onto Sting with one hand, and cradled sleepy lector against her chest with the other. His insides grew warm as his loving gaze fell in her. He watched her calmly chatting with Frosch (who was on Rogue's head) with a smile on her angelic face. She spoke in a baby-ish tone to the small exceed, who looked at her with curious eyes.

Much later that night, after Rogue and the two exceeds had fallen asleep, Aika was in the kitchen for a midnight snack. The tiny girl had hopped onto a chair in order to reach the cabinet (as she was just that short).

She reached into the cupboard and took out two plates. Since she only needed one, she reached forward once again, this time to put a plate back. In doing so, she tipped the chair forwards and fell, making the plate break right beside her as she hit the ground.

Sting jerked awake and immediately rushed towards the kitchen. He didn't know what happened, but his mind was screaming for him to go. Something had happened to his mate, and he was ready to kill whoever was responsible.

When the white dragon arrived, he found Aika crying in a corner on the floor with shards sticking out of her legs. He stepped forward, so he could go comfort her, but froze when he heard her whimper, "Please! Don't hurt me! I'm sorry!"

His heart melted as he slowly inched towards the siren, "Sshh, it's okay," he whispered, "I won't hurt you. I'd never hurt you."

He eventually knelt down and slowly wrapped his arms around her shaking figure.

'Raventail'

The name popped into his head. He knew it.

She was still struggling with what had happened in her early childhood.

The whole 'Natsu/Laxus' event that had recently happened had caused her to fall into  what could be called a 'relapse'.

He felt all of his mate's emotions crash down on him at once.

He felt the pain from her years in Raventail. Each slap, kick and cut hit him at once. It left no physical marks, but the pain he felt was enough to make him cry out, "AAHHHH"

Then he felt her Fairytail years. She'd just started to open up properly to Fairytail when she'd been betrayed by her own big brother. He felt the burns from Natsu's attacks, and the heartbreak his mate experienced when she realized who had sent Adagio into her body. He squeezed his mate closer to him, her back against his chest. His tears dropped onto her shoulder as he reached her year in the cave.

He felt it. The self loathing, the emptiness. He felt pain in his arms. His mate had fucking cut herself because of what they had put her through. That was it. He would kill Ivan Dreyar, Natsu Dragneel and Laxus Dreyar – or fatally injure them at the very least.

He leaned forward and kissed his mate's neck, "I'll protect you. You don't have to be alone."

That's actually a pretty long chapter for me.
Yes, I know my writing is shit. But I have nothing to do.

Somehow, this book reached #1 in #laxusdreyar

(I think it fell back down to 2 but it was #1 at a point in time where I was too lazy to update)

Thanks for reading! Votes and comments are appreciated!
