Chapter 12: We Didn't Win

Bethany's POV:
The time flew by. We had gone threw many weeks of practicing and then dancing on the show. Unfortunately, we ended up coming in 4th place. Which isn't bad, don't get me wrong. But I really wanted to come in 1st and so did Derek. The day after the final 'Dancing With the Stars' show, I decided to text Derek at about 11:35 A.M.

*hey Derek. good morning :) wyd today?*

A few minutes later, he responded.

*heyy Beth good morning :) and nothing. want to come over today at about 5:30? we can have dinner. ;)*

I thought about it.

*i would love to come. be there at 5:30 :) <3*

Even though we lost, we were going to still hang out. And talk. And date. We were both upset we lost, but we weren't going to let that get in the way.

I decided to eat a bagel with cream cheese for breakfast. I then took a shower and did my morning routine. I did my makeup a little extra today. I wanted to look really nice. By the time I was done, it was 1:03 P.M. I had a lot of time, so I went shopping for a nice dress.

Derek's POV:
I'm really glad we are still together even though we lost. It was hard to take 4th place, but we did.

When she texted me to hang out, I wanted to suprise her when she came here at my house. So, I decided to invite my family over. I think it was time for my family to meet the girl of my dreams. I called up my parents to tell them they should come to my house so they could meet her. It was going to be perfect.

I decided to take a hot shower. After, I wanted to look very nice, so I decided to wear a black button-up shirt with black suit pants. I picked out from my closet a purple tie and some black socks. I did my hair how I always did it. It was about 1:10 P.M. when I finished. I needed to start making dinner.

Bethany's POV:
I went to Kohl's really quickly and got a cute, light pink, one shoulder dress. It was $25.99, which isn't bad compared to other dresses. When I got home, it was 1:45 P.M. I got into my dress, and paired it with some white flats. I curled my hair and then, braided two pieces and clipped them back. Then, I packed a shoulder bag and waited to go.

Derek's POV:
I decided to make 4 pieces of seasoned and seared pork chops. For the side dishes, I made some really simple mashed potatoes and grilled zucchini on sticks. For dessert, I made my own mini cheesecakes that I've made before. I made about 8. It was 3:17 P.M. when everything was completely done so to keep the food warm, I put it in the oven.

*It is about 5:15*

Derek's POV:
It was almost time. She could come any time now. I really hope my parents like her.
