"So you're a six person gang?" Jeongguk asked curiously from where he sat, draped over the sofa, legs hanging over one arm and head draped upside down over the other, hair hanging off his forehead as he threw an apple into the air and caught it repeatedly.
"Yup." Hoseok hummed, who was laying sprawled out along the couch, cheek in his hand as his eyes remained trained on the tv, where some cartoon was currently playing. The two were alone in the house today, and while Jeongguk didn't know why, he assumed the rest of the boys were on a mission. Usually, three boys were out at a time to run the tattoo parlour and bar, but five of them being out? Unlikely.
"Namjoons our fearless leader, the rest of us are his loyal subjects. Well, I guess Seokjin kind of has reign over Namjoon. Sometimes. It's a complicated relationship." Hoseok said with a little chuckle.
"That's crazy. How can you guys be a gang with seven people? I've never seen any of you, ever." Jeongguk spoke with a shake of his head, dark eyes trained on the apple as it spun through the air, a blur of red.
"Yeah well, we're secretive. Oh, and we're actually good people. We only kill people who deserve it. Ten bucks says you know our name, but don't know jack about us." He said with another small laugh, his round cheeks appearing as he grinned.
A sudden realization dawned on Jeongguk, and he sat up, catching the apple, turning his wide eyes on Hoseok.
"Holy shit," He said slowly. "You're Bangtan, aren't you?"
Hoseok grimaced.
"I don't think I was supposed to let you know that."
"Holy shit." Jeongguk stood up from his chair, eyes still saucers. Bangtan- a small, over looked gang. He remembered the name appearing on his fathers bulletin board, he remembered his fathers frustration in trying to find who or where they were. He remembered his fathers anger the night Jeongguk had to tell him that Bangtan took out an entire squadron of the 'Eyes'.
From that point on, his father tried to find them. They had been severely underestimated for years, working under the radar, leaving no traces, and being incredibly skilled at everything they did.
There was no way that Jeongguk walked right into their bar, then tattoo parlour.
The luck. Or misfortune? He wasn't sure.
"Theres no way." Jeongguk said slowly, shaking his head as he paced. "I remember when you guys took out my entire operation. My dad, he started obsessing over Bangtan. Looked everywhere, asked everyone. You've been killing small people from the Jackals, from all the gangs for ever, quietly, very stealthily. Theres no way you're just seven people."
Turning back to Hoseok, he found the boy giving him an odd look, eyes sharp, head tilted.
"Your dad- Jeon Jibeom- is trying to find us? And what do you mean 'your' operation?" Hoseok said slowly, an almost nervous glint in his eyes.
"Yeah. He kept it pretty under the radar, but he's been hellbent on finding you for a while. And now that I'm here-" Jeongguk broke off, shaking his head. He bit his lip and paced, a nervous habit. "He's going to do everything he can to find me."
"Damn. That's good to know." Hoseok murmured. "Guess we can't sell you to him without him finding us out. I'm guessing he doesn't like us very much."
"Not at all."
Hoseok sighed again, raking his fingers through his hair. "I'll tell Joon when he returns. Now tell me- what do you mean 'your' operation? I remember what you were talking about. The Jackals were plotting to kidnap a very public man, and we were hired as a protection service. We assumed it would be the 'Kids' kidnapping him, but I thought you said you didn't dabble with them?"
