///Tord's POV///
I sat up in my bed, rubbing my forehead, and stretching. The sun was making the room seem to glow, and it seemed to already be nine or ten.
I squinted out the window, stretching my back.
Far down below, Tom stood.
He had his blue eyes again, and he was smiling, staring brightly at me, his hand shading his eyes. Tom's light brown hair pasted gently in the breeze and he didn't look as frail as he did now.
Tom looked...satisfied.
I didn't even think about seeing him until I remembered his eyes. I blinked, as the realization washed over me. I leaned forward, trying to look closer, but the curtain blocked my view.
A feeling if fear instantly washed over me, and the only thing I could think of was, not being able to see Tom.
I frantically ripped the curtain off the rod, trying to see Tom again. By the time I had moved it, he was gone.
I held the limp piece of fabric in my hands, staring out the window.
There was no one there and the path under my window was empty. I turned and rubbed my forehead and then my eyes.
"I might need glasses..." I murmured simply.
I barely got time to think about the whole thing when my ringtone shot from my phone.
I picked it up, studying the number. It looked familiar so I answered.
"Hello?" I asked sleepily, my voice coming out groggy.
"Tord," Edd's voice said through the speaker.
"E-Edd? How did you get my numb-" Edd interrupted me.
"Tord, I don't have time to explain," On his end, I could hear people shouting and moving. Some sounded frightened others sounded angry.
"Something...horrifying happened, two people were killed."
My eyes widened as I remembered.
Emma and Micheal.
"You need to get down here, this is huge."
I nodded, not able to give a verbal response. After a few seconds, I was able to manage an "Uh-huh" and hang up the phone.
My body shook as I looked toward the door.
This wasn't the first time I had killed something. The last time, I was with my parents.
"You need to hold the gun like this," My dad said, as I aimed it at the deer. "You need to stand lower so you're more balanced. It's harder for a beginner."
I knelt down, positioning the gun. I looked forward and saw the deer, the thing I was about to kill.
"When you're all aimed up," Papa said, "Go ahead and fire, but be careful."
I fired.
After we made sure the deer was dead, they showed me how to glean, how to not leave fingerprints, how to clean up correctly.
Then, 10 years later...
I used the same skills and slaughtered two humans like they were prey.
I got up from my bed, it would be more suspicious if I didn't show up.
I pulled on my hoodie and jeans, then left.
