"You're a germaphobe. I still don't see how you're even capable of touching the volleyball mid-game without a wet wipe."
Instead of replying, Sakusa just flipped you off silently.
"You little shit." You smirked, your eye almost twitching at his antics.
Sakusa Kiyoomi and you had been friends for quite a while, in fact, you were almost always by him or Komori. The duo was quite funny to you, they kept you entertained most of the time.
You were 'feisty' as Sakusa himself had claimed, but it was just how you worked on a day-to-day basis. Currently, you were getting ice cream with both of the boys as it was mid-spring.
"Can't you tone it down a bit?" Komori laughed at the two of you arguing.
"If Sakusa wasn't such a pest maybe."
"Well, what if you weren't such a baby about every little insult anyone throws at you?"
And with that comment you stopped in your tracks, the two boys stopping to look at you. You suddenly flashed them both a fake teary-eyed puppy expression. Sakusa froze and Komori looked extremely concerned.
It took a second for either of them to react, but by the time Komori opened his mouth to say something you had begun laughing.
"Damn...you both fell for it again! That's like the seventh time!" You wiped your eye, almost crying from laughing so hard.
"The next time you pull this I'm gonna keep walking," Sakusa muttered under his mask, clearly annoyed.
"Oh come on Sakusa! Stop being so stubborn and enjoy it!" You playfully punched his arm, stepping back into pace with the boys. "Quick question,"
Sakusa hummed in response.
"Are you ever gonna take off that mask or are you hiding crusty cracked lips under there."
You could hear Komori snort in an attempt to hold back his laughter.
Sakusa, on the other hand, stared you down.
"If I wasn't so nice I might've strangled you just now." You heard him mumble.
"Aw c'mon, you know you love me!" You smirked rolling your eyes at the taller male. You swore you could've seen a rosy blush on his cheeks, but if faded as soon as you realized.
"Oh! Look!" Komori pointed to the ice cream shop just ahead.
"Nice! Looks like we made it just on time." You added, scanning the surrounding area for someone in particular.
"What are you looking for? It's literally right there." Sakusa furrowed his brows at you, confused by your interest in the crowd that was beginning to form.
"If your uncomfortable, you can wait out here," Komori commented, assuring his friend before you answered.
"I'm looking for- Oh! There he is!" You exclaimed, visibly brimming with happiness.
Sakusa let his mind wander; why were you so happy to see someone when he and Komori were right here? Had you already lost interest in him? Was all that time wasted? Was he doing something wrong?
Nevertheless, you ran up to a taller boy that neither of the Itachiyama students knew. He had grey bangs and looked calm, just like the expression Sakusa wore, but much more joyous.
"'Samu!" You smiled, throwing your arms around your old friend.
"It's nice to see you too (y/n)." He smiled warmly at you and embraced you back. "How long has it been, months?"
