"Pen you sure this is a good idea. I like winding Lizzie up as much as the next person but isn't this to far" Alex side eyes her friend as she's sitting on the kitchen counter eating one of the spare cupcakes.
"nonsense, its perfect! What better way than to make her realises the world doesn't revolve around her. especially today" Penelope smirks handing Alex another cupcake with a candle in it. Alex pushes herself off the counter and follows her friend with a huff.
They both make their way up to the twin's room and Alex notices Hope walking off with Raf laughing at something he said. Penelope notices this as well and links her arm with Alex pulling her along. At this point Alex would have ran off but it's a bit too early in the day for that plus she a Mikaelson for god sake, she really needs to stop running off.
"woot woot! Happy birthday, witches" Penelope says leaning with one cupcake in her hand against the door frame and Alex is mimicking her actions. Josie frowns as she see Alex standing next to Penelope. Seeing her their sort of makes her miss the times when they were all friends, but she pushes that feeling down.
"oh look. Its Satan in a crop top and the evil twin. Come to burn my world down" Lizzie walks to stand next to Josie.
"be doing it a favour if that's what you're doing with your hair" Alex quips as she sees the two hair clips in Lizzie's hair
Penelope smirks before adding "retro! Princess Di before she got style! I dig it"
Lizzie rips out the clips from her hair in a huff.
"what do you want" Josie narrows her eyes looking directly at her ex
"oh, just to cheer you two. That and to give your boy stealing sister fashion advice, you know cause your moms not coming" Penelope is cut off by Lizzie slamming the door in the two girls face.
Penelope looks back with a smirk at Alex who has a very angry look on her face.
"Alex" Penelope's smirk fades.
Penelope grunts as she is slammed against the wall with Alex's arm across her chest making sure she can't move
"what the fuck if wrong with you. I said to leave it" she spat out
A few students where stood around watching the pair but neither of them cared that much, both of them used to people staring at them.
"its not right al, you deserve to be happy" Pen said though gritted teeth as Alex slammed her into the wall again
"you don't know anything" Alex hissed realising her grip from the girl before storming off.
Alex tried to ignore the whispers in her head as they filled her rage. She really needed to hit something. Well, what she really wanted to do was rip everyones head off or kill them very slowly but that's frowned upon at the school so hitting something is the next best thing.

Alex stays out of sight, she's just close enough to the entrance of the gym to hear and see what is going on. Is that Hope and Raf she can see dancing.
"you think this is bad? You know its only gonna get worse, right? Lizzie Saltzman has been planning her sweet sixteen since she was five. You probably should've thought twice before breaking my sisters heart and asking Lizzie to be your date" Hope narrows her eyes
"well I didn't ask her" Raf sigh fidgeting slightly as Hope intensifies her gaze "all I know is I cant let her down now" Alex's raise an eyebrow, now she curious
"why" Hope questions carefully
"because I slept with her Hope" Alex freezes. Her heart drops.

"nice to know where I stand" Alex comes out of the shadows making herself known. "oh and thanks Hope. Great sister you are" she adds on before spinning on her heals and heading out the gym
"Alex wait!" Hope calls out but is blocked by a barrier spell
"what the hell" Raf questions as he tries to get free
"barrier spell, fantastic" Hope sighs in frustration
"sorry kids. Call this payback for breaking Alex's heart" Penelope smirks
Hope and Raf look around as the school starts to shake. A sign of a very emotional Alex.
"let us out Penelope! I need to get to my sister" Hope scolds
"you'll be free in a hour. And how nice of you to finally care about her" Penelope's voice is cold as she walks off with a shrug.
Penelope runs up to the one place where Alex would be, in her room.
"Alex!" Penelope rushes over to the girl who is screaming into her knees crying.
"its okay I'm here" She whispers as she pulls Alex into a hug
"It hurts" Alex cries. She doesn't know who is holding her but whoever it is she is grateful for. Grateful that someone has chosen to care about her and that they have anchored her to what little remains of her humanity.

"come in" Alex calls as she hears two knocks at her door. It is far later now, she's missed the twins party and pretty much everything. Hope had come in to get a dress but Alex just laid on her bed facing the wall not wanting to talk or see her sister.
She is now sitting on her bed with her knee to her chest and her back against the wall looking directly at the door.
"I broke up with Lizzie. We only had sex because I was angry and so was she." Raf shifts slightly seeing the emotionless look in Alex's eyes "Alex she was just there it didn't mean anything" Raf said to her after he had closed the door. He didn't want to come any closer to her in fear of upsetting her more
"okay" Alex started blankly at him causing him to flinch.
"is that it?" Raf's eyes widen in confusion.
"what do you want me to say? I can't even be angry because we were never together. We had sex and that was it right?" Alex takes a breathe in "Look I'm unpredictable, I lash out at everyone who pushes me in the wrong way. I can be closed off, I don't trust easily" Alex cuts herself off with a deep sigh "so maybe it's easier if we don't." Alex waved her hand magically opening the door.
Raf looks like he's about to say something but decides against it, leaving the room instead as Alex goes back to facing her desk.
Good now he's gone.

Alex went back to staring off in the distance listening to the hollow inside her head. A dangerous game she knows, but no one cares about her so why bother fighting it anymore.
