An Inconvinient Truth

"What the hell are you doing here?" Johnny facepalmed as he asked

"Studying, duh"

"Aren't you like a night person? Why are you out in daylight?" Johnny raised an eyebrow, Jaehyun just shooqk his head.

"Hey! A transferee? How much did you pay the school?" A fellow classmate, Kenta, commented, making the others laugh.

Transferring schools is difficult, either the student is really smart enough or the student paid the school, in Jaehyun's case, he shifted schedules, from night class to day class, not that the other students know about this certain night class anyway. Jaehyun has to stay low for now, Heechul gave them a special task, he should be grateful that the teacher didn't punish him in any way. Johnny was spinning his pen the entire first subject, Jaehyun was listening intently, God knows how many times he's taken the subject, almost memorizing the phrases. Heechul and the boys has been moving from one school to another, as if touring Korean schools, in order to hide their identity, it so happens that they are back on the school where history started.

"Yo, it's lunch already, are you going to continue spacing out?" Johnny tapped his desk.

"Oh, right" Jaehyun just stood and walked straight out without even looking at his classmates

"Attitude" Yuta raised an eyebrow but Johnny just shook it off.

The cafeteria was usually filled with people, today was no exception, Johnny scanned the perimeter, no sign of Jaehyun anywhere. Maybe the boy had packed lunch and decided to eat somewhere less crowded, the kid seemed to be anti-social, mingling only to a few people. A bunch of freshmen entered the cafeteria, they seemed to be the blood donors of the week. "Hey Yong, why do they keep making us donate blood every week? I mean not everyone but at least like ten people per week, for what?" Johnny asked, Taeyong looked at him weirdly. "You don't know about the school's hospital partner? We're giving our blood to help others, isn't is good?" Taeyong gave him a thumbs up.

"I mean, can't they just ask for volunteers? Those kids are still young"

"Everybody gets their turn John, stop being so nosy and eat your lunch before I finish it for you"

"But still, it seems fishy, do they need that much blood from us?"

"Oh shush"

"The nobles requested the week's stock, are they all ready?" Heechul asked the school nurse, Jaehyun stood by the door, observing.

"Stop whatever you're thinking"

"Sir, you're treating them like some livestock" Jaehyun commented, the nurse, a fellow vampire, giggled.

"Don't forget that I saved you, why are you even here? Go back to class"

"Kids here have tasty blood, seems like you're raising the best of the best" Jaehyun smirked, barely missing a flying scalpel

"Jaehyun, don't make me punish you"

"Fine"

Jaehyun returned to class just before the bell for the next period, Johnny already sat on his chair. "Where'd you go?" The taller asked, Jaehyun looked at him while blinking "Did you miss me?" He asked and Johnny stopped himself from slamming the boy's head on the table. Jaehyun chuckled before sleeping the whole class off, only waking up when it was dismissal. "Just go back to your night thingy if you're just gonna sleep on every class" Johnny patted his back. "Oh I would if I can" Jaehyun grabbed his bag "See ya later" he waved goodbye and walked away. "That kid is so weird, just stay away from him, he looks like a troublemaker" Ten told Johnny, the taller sighed, he was right, Jaehyun has no friends and he doesn't talk to anyone except him. Johnny returned to dorm, he had an hour before practice starts.

Johnny's hobby was taking random pictures, he opened their window, their dorm facing the back of the library and clinic, he began taking random photos when the back door of the clinic opened, he zoomed his lens in, it was a man carrying a box of donated blood, instead of taking it to the hospital, the man used the emergency stairs to get up to the back of the library, Johnny sat back down on his bed, there is definitely something fishy in this, he knows Jaehyun can answer his questions about these night folks.

"You found Yuno?" A woman on a dark alley asked an informant, hidden on the shadows, their hush conversation lingered on the walls.

"Madam, this will surprise you but, he was always near, too near"

"Okay, it's about time to visit my boy, you know what to do"

"Yes madam, we will comply"
