Johnny's Dillema

Jaehyun is cruel.

Johnny quickly shoved the vampire down, pinning him on the floor "Stop it, don't make me hate you more" he growled, Jaehyun looked startled, Johnny was never like this, never this harsh on his teasing. "I'm sorry" he looked away from Johnny, anywhere in the room, randomly staring at the plain white walls to avoid any contact. He slowly reached out to put the contract on Johnny's back pocket "I am under your care now" he murmured, Johnny finally lift his body up, Jaehyun felt like he could finally breathe, the taller stormed out of the room, leaving the vampire behind. Jaehyun had a lot to think about.

Johnny covered his mouth, leaning his whole body on the door after slamming it shut, the vampire just kissed him, and the fact that he didn't dislike the kiss, it confused him. He should hate Jaehyun, he's nothing but a troublemaker, someone who made his life complicated. Yet here he is, mind running a thousand mile per second, thinking of a stolen first kiss, he must have gone insane. He returned home only to meet his grandparents having tea in the living room "Did the pact go well?" His grandpa asked, Johnny showed them the torn sleeve "Always keep that with you, so he can trace your whereabouts in case you get in trouble" his grandpa explained, the youngsters were playing in the backyard, his mom and aunt were digging up some fermented kimchi, his dad and uncle chopping down wood for bonfire.

"Hey guys, don't get near that warehouse okay, there are monsters there" his dad told the boys

"Uncle we're not babies! Monsters aren't real!" Hyuck chuckled

"Johnny is scared of monsters and he's already in high school, because there are big monsters!" His dad added, Jisung looked scared while listening that Johnny had to cuddle him up.

When night came, Johnny visited the warehouse, surprisingly, Jaehyun, though he can escape, was still locked up in his room, laying on the mattress. "Um...hyung..." a voice called him out, it was one of the boys with Jaehyun "Yeah?" He walked towards the door "Will they kill us?" Johnny looked at the boy, he was probably around the same age as Hyuck and Jaem, the two were a few years younger than Jaehyun. Johnny shook his head "You see, me and Jeno, we think it's best if we return to the school but Jaehyung hyung doesn't want to because he lost trust on everyone, but we think the vampires in the school are good ones" the boy explained with sparkly eyes "Oh my name is Mark Lee, by the way"

Jaehyun faced the wall all night, pretending to be asleep, he could hear Mark without even reading the boy's mind, another thing that changed in him was his senses, they all became sharp, although his telepathy still limits to vampires, his senses were sharp enough to pass through barriers. Kissing Johnny was embedded in his head, why did he do it? Johnny's face just looked so tender and pure on that moment, as if he was asking for it, Jaehyun fell through, after months, finally meeting the taller made him do it.

"I'm so stupid, I've gone mad, he probably hates me now"

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to do it, maybe if you didn't look kiss- what am I saying, I wanna die..."

A restless night for a throbbing heart, Johnny didn't have a better sleep either.

New year's was just around the corner when Johnny's mom decided to visit the vampires, she was kind, too kind. "I feel bad that they are still kids yet they were turned" she shrugged, watching the boys from the CCTV room. "That's the boy from your school? Is he normally that quiet? He hasn't moved an inch for a few minutes now" she pointed out "We're not that close mom" he bit his tongue, he still felt uncomfortable to be near Jaehyun. "And these two are probably around Hyuck and Jaemin's age, too young...what have they been doing to the kids" she sighed, his mother decided to visit the vampire boys, Mark and Jeno were shy but they appreciated her bringing pork blood cookies for them.

"Hello" she opened the door to Jaehyun's room, Johnny was behind her, it was awkward.

"You know Johnny right? I'm his mom"

"I don't know him that well" Jaehyun finally looked at her

"Well, I just wanted to give out cookies and invite you to watch the fireworks later to celebrate the new year, Mark and Jeno will come, and tomorrow, if you have anywhere to go, you can leave this place"

"Thank you for the hospitality"

"You are very welcome"

Jaehyun looked like he had something to say but Johnny already left before he can say anything. His mom just smiled before leaving, everything's ruined.

Night came and Johnny was grilling meat on the backyard, new year's eve is another occassion where the kids can stay up all night, Jeno and Mark shyly joined the family, the kids welcomed them without knowing what they were, Jaehyun chose to stay behind, talking about him wanting to rest more. Johnny felt guilty, the vampire was clearly avoiding him, but he should be doing it after that kiss, so why does it feel like he's at fault?

"Hyung" Jisung tapped Mark's leg, asking for a hug, Jisung's dad looked startled but Mark grin and gave the younger a hug.

"Oh, Jisung found a new friend" his mom chuckled, Hyuck and Jaemin played with Mark and Jeno on their "kid's table".

"Your friend's not coming, huh"

"We're not friends, I just know him in school mom"

"Well, we invited him so it's his choice" his dad explained

Johnny ate a lot, hot choco is the best for new year's eve, the adults had wine while kids had hot choco, Jeno and Mark looked happy to hang out with same-aged kids, Jaehyun's probably lonely back in the warehouse. "Hey, you okay?" Johnny's dad asked, Johnny was staring blankly at the sky, waiting for fireworks "Yep dad, totally fine" he grinned.

Back in the warehouse, after discovering a new skill, Jaehyun made his move, he used the BBQ party to slip in and out, smuggling weapons from the mayor's stocks near the place, from habdguns to knives, even a katana, anything to slow down the enemy. He chose to stay behind, blocking the camera with a piece of cloth to hide his smuggles, they had to leave before dawn, before Yoonho finds them.

He wrote on a piece of paper under his pillow, he had a bag full of weapons, a thing called smartphone and a stock of animal blood from the warehouse. Fireworks startled him, he looked out the window, the sky lit up in different colors, there were cheers from outside, Mark and Jeno looked so happy, they were still kids, they deserve to be happy, he should be the one being chased after, they were just two kids who got caught up on this, Jaehyun has to make a choice. And he chose what he thought would be better, along with the crackling sounds of fireworks outside, it covered the sound of his tracks as he left the warehouse on his own, he trusted Johnny's family can take care of the kids, they have to be safe and he has to go, as long as Yoonho's blood runs through him, the pureblood will surely find him.

Jeno and Mark returned to the warehouse, assuming their hyung was still in his room, they didn't wanna bother him, the Suh family ended their new year's party a little past 1am, kids were knocked out and Johnny finally thought of it, Jaehyun and his friends will be gone by tomorrow, he has to convince Jae to go back to the school, Jungkook will be able to help him, on whatever thing he's been running away from, he had to convince the boy in any way. When morning came, he volunteered to give blood rations to the kids before they go, Mark and Jeno ate well, talking to him a little bit, finally opening up a little. He knocked on Jaehyun's door but no one answered. Opening the door, the first thing he noticed was an empty bed, the covered CCTV and a letter on top of a blanket.
