Emilia Ellis

I stepped inside the house and quickly slipped on my indoor shoes. I hate wearing outdoor shoes inside the house and its one of my pet peeves, when I catch Daniel doing it, often.

I sat on the kitchen bar stool and was eating my fries when Daniel walked out.

"Something smells great here." He said, appearing out of nowhere in his hoodie and sweatpants and his hair was messy. David and Daniel got good looks, while me? I feel like so average in front of them.Even if they have dirt on their faces, women swoons around them.

"Your hotdog is there." I pointed at the paper bag at the counter.

"Thanks Em." He said as he ruffled my hair.

"Don't touch my hair." I scowled at him and he grinned.

Daniel and I moved out of our family's house to this new house, that is just down the street from our family's house. When David visits us from LA. He stays with us as well.

"I watched the video." He said quietly as he took out the hotdog from the bag and I froze in my place. I don't want to be all over the internet and then people looking at my background.

"Don't worry, Leslie took it down." He reassured me. "Good job, buddy." He looked at me with pride. "I sent that video to David."

I groaned. I don't want David to watch that video. It's embarrassing.

"Why did Leslie shared the video in the first place with you?" I groaned.

"Because part of her job is to notify me of the things you are doing." He smiled as he opened the can of coke.

"That's like invading of my privacy." I frowned.

"Keeping you safe is part of my responsibilities and when I'm aware of what you did, it makes things easier for me when you need help." He poured the coke to a glass.

"I would ask you to refrain from invading my privacy.I'm 26 years old!" I said.

"You are still the baby of the family." He said and smiled.

I scoffed at him.

"Tell David that." He said. "He give me the responsibilities and you know how he is."

I groaned at that thought, David is a very persistent person and I know, I won't be able to win, when I bring the subject out.

"You are attending the wedding, ain't you?" He asked, casually.

"Of course, if I have a choice then I would like to know, now." I said.

My cousin's wedding is two weeks from now. She is one of my closest cousin, but the reason I don't want to attend is because the rest of my cousins hates me because they think that I'm too arrogant! I was shocked when I learnt that few years back and I heard many foul things about me that they spoke about behind my back.

"She wanted you to play the piano during her reception." He watched me carefully for any reaction and I stopped eating.

"Please tell me you didn't decide for me."

"Of course." He give me a hurtful look. "She wants to know ASAP,though."

I sighed in relief, "The answer is of course a NO." I said and he frowned.

"You shouldn't worry about what other thinks about you."

"I don't want to be the centre of attentions and especially away from their social media." I scrunched my nose, one of my cousin was literally stalked and harassed by a follower, a year back, thinking about that still gives me goosebump.

"Your safety is our number one priority." He reminded me and walked and stood beside me and give me a side hug. "You should show them who is the boss, here."

I chuckled and he smiled, "It would be great if you agree to play some songs in her reception."

"I'll think about it." I said.

"You message her when you have an answer?"

"Sure thing." I said.

I was in my home office, checking the files when Daniel walked in, video chatting David. He shoved the phone on face and I glared at him, playfully before moving a little away from the phone.

"EM!" David said cheerfully. "My baby sister, I'm so proud of you." He was happy, his blue eyes was happy and tired. I see some stubble on his face and his hair was a little messy.

"Thanks." I said, suddenly shy about this matter.

"Doesn't it feel nice to help someone?" He asked.

"I was honestly scared." I said and he give me a soft look.

"I know, its scary when you are in that situation and its a big responsibility, but you did it."

"I know." I sighed in relief. "When are you coming to visit us?"

"I'm coming for the wedding." He said. "Can't miss the wedding, can I?"

"How long will you be here, though?"

"Maybe for five days." He said.

"We miss you!" I said.

He chuckled, "I miss you guys too."

And I see a woman who interrupted our talk.

"Okay, buddies. I have to go." He said. "Got call for duty."

"Take care." Daniel and I said at the same time and he hanged up on us.

"What are you doing?" Daniel asked.

"Reading the files."

He give me a sympathetic look and I shrugged.

"How is your preparation for your exhibition?" I asked.

"Smoother than I expected." He grinned as his eyes shone in happiness. I'm really happy for my two brothers who was able to figure out what they wanted to do and is following their dreams and passion. While, there's me who is stuck in the company and having no idea what I want to do in my life.

"I'll leave you alone." He smiled and give me quick hug before leaving the room.

"Sure, see you." I called out.
