13. Bait

As soon as all Hashiras gathered to the grounds, they proceeded to attack Muzan with everything they had, only to have him regenerate back at a rapid speed. No matter how much they cut him, he ends up being back in a full piece. They were having an extremely hard time getting past his tentacles, only to be swung back hitting the ruins of the fallen fortress.

Yet, the one Hashira that stood up against Muzan easily was none other than Akane Haizaki. They noticed his movements were getting faster by the seconds as he manages to slice off the tentacles that were coming straight for him.

"Is either I get that demon girl, or I'll take it from you!" Muzan yelled out and Haizaki continued to go against the demon lord occasionally with the Hashiras stepping in to help out.

He muses that they were fortunate to die immediately and points to the dead bodies, only to have his eyes widened when he saw no dead bodies at all. He then looked around and spotted kakushis bringing away the lower-ranked demon slayers, and he gritted his teeth in anger.

Just then a sudden sinister laugh erupted from Muzan who held his face with his hand as he continued to laugh, still fighting the oncoming attacks from the Pillars who were trying their best to end his life.

"You know what, I'll just get it from you instead!" and Haizaki's dark blue ocean eyes widened when all the tentacles from Muzan went straight for him instead, and Haizaki immediately tried his best to deflect the attacks.

"Breath of  Shadow, Fifth Style: Descending Shadows!"

Obanai then noticed the smirk on Haizaki's face, and his eyes widened when Muzan managed to pierce through Haizaki's abdomen and ripped something out from his body. His other tentacles then held onto Haizaki tightly, as he smiled at the thing he managed to get out from Haizaki's body.

"It's finally in my hands! It's finally in my hands!" Muzan yelled out with a wide smile plastered on his face as he revealed what he had taken from Haizaki. Haizaki then winced when the tentacles around him started to tighten.

The Hashiras eyes widened as they looked at Muzan who was holding onto the Blue Spider Lily. They couldn't believe their eyes at the fact that that extremely rare flower existed and it was inside Haizaki's body.

They then watched as Muzan immediately devoured the Blue Spider Lily, and he had a smirk on his face.

"Now, I've got no use for any of you at all. I don't even need that demon girl as well," Muzan added on and tightened his hold on Haizaki while his other tentacles got busy and attacked the Hashiras who tried to stand in and help out.

"Damn it, was that why [name] had to create so much medicine for Haizaki?!" Sanemi scowled out as he tried to fend himself from the attacks, and eventually, he got injured in the stomach.

"[name]..." Obanai thought to himself as he easily evaded Muzan's attack, only to be stopped from getting nearer to Haizaki as he was seen sending back and crashed into a building. They then watched as Muzan brought Haizaki closer, and that's when they realized the tentacles were absorbing Haizaki.

"HAIZAKI!" Sanemi yelled. Haizaki then mentally cursed as he couldn't get himself free in any way, and he could feel his body was burning up from the process of being devoured. He hissed in pain as he felt his bones getting crushed, and the only thing that flashed through his mind was none other than her.

His younger sister.

"You can go and see him, but be careful," he spoke out and [name] nodded.

Their father and mother then watched the young brunette making her way into her brother's room, still holding the flower crown in her hand. She soon knelt beside him while he rested in his futon, and noticed that he had coughed out blood, and their father didn't manage to clean the mess up properly.
