Gunny: Shalini, please you shouldn't interfere in raj's life like this.

Shalini: I am not interfering; just making a suggestion. 

Raj: Shal, Naina can raise this child on her own - she has incredible strength; and she might meet someone down the road who she loves...

Shalini: Raj I wish the world was as nice; you really think it'll allow Naina to raise this child piece especially after all the hatred they have faced over Naveen's case? 

Gunny: Shal, we all care about Naina; but Raj can't throw away his life for that.

Shal: Throw away his life? Naina is an amazing girl. You know how I had hoped that she and Raj would date, and not Abhimanyu.

Ward boy: Dr. Shalini you are needed in ward 10!

After Shalini left

Gunny: Raj I am sorry; Shalini looks at Naina as a younger sister and she has always shipped her with you - for some odd reason

Raj: Gunny, you know, the thought of asking Naina to marry me came to my head. I couldn't bear to see her like this. She's our Naveen's sister; and... (he choked)... I was abandoned in an orphanage myself. I would love to help Naina raise her baby. 

BUT Gunny you know I was Naveen's arresting officer. How can I ever marry her after that?

Gunny: Raj stopped holding yourself responsible for Naveen's death. 

Raj: Gunny I don't know what to do... I really want to help Naina

Gunny: and you are doing the best you can

Later that day Raj was staying behind in Naina's room to look after her. He had lied to Mr & Mrs Ahluwalia that she was in a small accident but ensured them that he'd look after her 

Raj had drifted to sleep emotionally and physically exhausted. He suddenly woke up to the sound of Naina crying. Naina was talking to Naveen's photograph.

Naina: Bhaiya I can't take this anymore; I keep trying to be strong for maa and baba but I am exhausted; and now this pregnancy. You know how much I have loved kids and yet today I have to think about killing my child. 

Bhaiya why did you go away? I am all alone!

Why bhaiya, why?

Raj felt completely helpless; he had to do something for Naina. Next morning he made a big decision. He called up Abhimanyu

Abhi: Raj, how is Naina? I have been trying to get in touch with her?

Raj: Why? So that you can cause her more pain?

Abhi: Raj you know me; you know how much I loved Naina; and still do.

Raj: You love Naina?

Abhi: Of course

Raj: Then save her life from ruin

Abhi: What do you mean? 

Raj: Naina tried committing suicide today

Abhi: WHATT?!! THAT'S NOT POSSIBLE. 

Raj: Yes; and you know why? Because she's pregnant with your child? 

Abhi: How's she? Is she OK? Is my baby OK?

Raj: "MY baby" sheesh... If you are really father take responsibility, and do something 

Abhi: I am driving over here right now! 

Naina got up next morning and was shocked to see a familiar figure sitting next to her

Naina: Abhi?

Abhi: Naina.. I am here now

Naina: Go away? Who asked you to come here?

Abhi: Naina I am sorry for everything!!! But I'll fix everything.

Naina: How?

Abhi: I have decided to annul my marriage to Nandini

Naina: Abhi..I... we can't find happiness in her sadness/

Abhi: This was just an arrangement for her as well; We dont love each other. I love you and our baby! And I will give both of you the best in life

Naina: Really Abhi? Oh... I love you so much

Raj, stood at the door, worried sick at Abhi's impulsive decision. He knew that as the prince of barmer it was almost impossible for him to get out of his wedding with Nandini. Why was he giving Naina this false hope?! He was extremely worried

Naina: Raj! Thank you for calling Abhi. You saved our lives

Abhi: Thanks Raj! We'll always be grateful to you. 

Raj smiled; and hoped his worst fears wouldn't come true.

A week passed; raj was sitting with Naina

Raj: Naina you musn't get your hopes up

Naina; Raj, I really appreciate you for your concern; but I have full faith in Abhi. See here he comes.

One look at ABhi's face and he knew Naina was in for the heartbreak of her lifetime; Abhi came and sat next to Naina as Raj moved away. Abhi took Naina's hands in his; bent over and began crying. Naina looked on, dazed and speechless

Abhi: Naina I couldn't convince my family! And when I threatened to walk away my dad told me that I'd never see any of them again if I did that. 

Naina looked horrified

Abhi: My mom broke down; grandma's health worsened. Naina I am so sorry

A single tear rolled down Naina's eye, holding back an entire storm

Abhi: Naina I'll always love you! But I cant do this. 

Naina turned pale

Abhi: But I'll take full care of you! Here.. see these papers. I will support all your living expenses and the baby's for your lifetime. If you want we can also adopt the baby - Nandini and I can. 

Naina finally snapped

Naina: Get out of my life forever. This instant. You scoundrel; you dare to buy me over; bribe me with money.

Abhi: Naina that's not my intention

Naina: Get out. Raj please help. get him out. 

Raj yanked Abhi away; pushing him against the wall and slapping him hard. 

Raj: If I ever see you near Naina or her child; you won't live to see the light of day. 

He shoved Abhi out of the room; he turned around and walked to Naina

Raj: Naina you won't cry anymore. I am here for you. I have no family; no wealth. I am an ordinary man who serves in the Indian army. I don't have much to offer you, accept unflinching respect. And unconditional love for your child - and a promise to raise her or him as my own

Naina; What are you? You don't have to do this

Raj: I know. but I want to do this. Naina will you marry me?
