Naina was now worried; she hadn't heard from Raj in 6 months. Suddenly she heard a knock on the door. She opened it and saw men in uniform. Her heart sank.
Officer; Ma'am Major Shekhawat has been declared missing in action.
He continued providing her details; but her mind was a blur. After they left; she went and hugged Riya tightly

2 years had passed since Raj had left on the mission. 1 year since he hed been declared MIA. But Naina never lost hope.
She was parting 6 year old Riya to bed. They were telling Raj's photo about her day as was the ritual.

Riya: Good night Dada. I miss you a lot! I am waiting for you to come back.
Riya kissed Naina and then closed her eyes to go to sleep.
Naina received a call from Army HQ.
Naina: Yes... I'll be there! I'll be there immediately!
She immediately called Shalini who along with Gunny lived nearby. They immediately rushed over to take care of Riya
Gunny: Naina, don't get your hopes up!

She rushed to the Army HQ hospital, and was taken into a room. She saw a badly injured soldier with bandages all over; hooked to many machines. His eyes were visible, and she knew it was Raj
She rushed to him and hugged him, and a single tear came out of his eye.
As Raj recovered over the next few weeks; she didn't leave his side for a single moment; finally he recovered strength to speak
Raj: How are you?
Naina: Good... now that you are back.
Raj: How's Riya.
Naina: As impish as she ever was. Do you want to see a photo?
Raj nodded vociferously
