Raj; Lala Sahab, can I come in!
Lala: My son! You never need permission to come inside my office. Let me look at you. I knew my prayers and blessings would bring you back.
You are finally getting the time to meet me?
Raj; I am sorry Lala Sahab; it's been a hectic time since I got back - rehabilitation; adjusting back to life with Naina and Riya.
Lala: She's pregnant, right?
Raj: yes! 5.5 months. It's been a difficult pregnancy. She was on bed rest for the last month. Finally been given permission to move around in a controlled manner.
Lala: I am so excited for you Raj! Finally your own child
Raj: Lala Sahab I have had Riya in my life for 7 years; she's as dear to me like any biological child
Lala: Of course! Now, why haven't the two of you gotten remarried? It's leading to a lot of unnecessary gossips which I have put a lid on - but you know how these things are
Raj: Naina isn't ready yet. The day she is... we'll get married. Please come meet her and Riya for dinner. It's been a long time since you met them
Lala: yes, I tried reaching out when you were MIA - but she seemed reluctant to engage; anyways she got good support from Major Chauhan. I'll see you guys this weekend

Naina: He's invited HIM to the house! I can't believe it... I don't want HIM in our house
Abhi: Naina you have to control yourself; we have worked very hard about this. You can;t blow it away.
Naina; I am going to try!

Naina: How can I help you?
Raj: Just by relaxing. You look lovely!!!
Lala Sahab entered half hour later. Raj went and touched his feet. Naina hung back, barely acknowledging his presence. Riya came to say hello! And then ran back to the garden
Lala: She looks just like Abhimanyu! The Chauhan genes are strong
Naina was shocked; nobody ever brought that up
Raj: Her behavior is such a lovely mix of Naina and me!
Naina and Lala sat on the sofa as Raj set the table; the silence was cutting
Lala: Raj told me that you were on bed rest?
Naina: I am doing much better now! Thank you!
Raj: Dinner's ready! Riya baccha come inside!
As they sat on the dining table Lala noticed how Naina was more focussed on Riya's eating than her own food.
Lala: Naina beta... she can feed herself. She's 7 years old. You should focus on yourself and Raj's child.
Naina became even quieter and angrier. Raj regretted arranging the dinner. Lala Sahab was his mentor and father figure but he knew that Lala didn't take Riya as his child. On the other hand Naina never liked him, and she was making her displeasure apparent
after dinner went back to the garden to play and raj nudged Naina to join her

Naina finally seemed happy as she played around with Riya; picked her up in her arms and ran around
Lala: She needs to be more careful!
Raj: She is! But we never want Riya to feel left out. She is our first-born
Lala: She is Naina's first-born. Your first child was lost in a miscarriage; and this is a miraculous second chance.
He stopped as he saw naina standing at the entrance looking furious.
Raj: Naina... Lala Sahab was just looking out for your health
Naina: DONT!
She turned and called Riya inside and took her inside to put her to bed
Later that night, Raj came to check on Naina
Raj: Lala Sahab's words were wrong! But his intentions werent!
Naina: That man will never come to his house again
Raj: Naina that's an overreaction!
Naina: Really he kept trying to imply that Riya isn't your child... Or wait do you agree with him?
Raj: DONT NAINA! YOU KNOW THAT'S NOT TRUE. I HAVE LOVED RIYA AS MY OWN SINCE YOU WERE PREGNANT WITH HER.
Naina: Then you are just blind to his faults. You are so measured and balanced otherwise, but abhi told me how you were blinded about him since your KMA days.
Raj: You discuss me and Lala Sahab with Abhi? What else do you discuss?
Naina: That's none of your business.
Raj: I have to ask you! The reason for turning down my proposal - Is it Abhi?
Naina: Believe what you want!
Raj: Then tell me why don't you want to marry me? Why do you not want to give this relationship a name!
Naina: I don't want to talk anymore... Leave now.

Lala: She's onto something; keep an eye on her and that Abhimanyu Chauhan.

Lala: And if she tries to create trouble bump her off!

In the middle of the night Raj noticed Naina come inside his room. She came and lay next to him and hugged him. She clearly hadn't realized that he was awake; he continued pretending to be asleep.
She snuggled closer to him
Naina: I love you Raj! And I know you love Riya, as much, if not more than I do! I wish I could say yes... But I have to say no! I wanted to keep you away from all of this because i know what it'll do to you. I know with Riya and this unborn baby our lives can never be separate. But marriage would make it much more complex and difficult
She fell asleep and Raj pulled her closer to himself.
