"God I just can't believe she made me her medical power of attorney" Christen said while they all sat around the waiting room.

"She was freaked out after her parents died, we all knew that" Kelley said.

"I know but why me?" replied Christen.

"Because you have always been there for her Christen. She trusts you and loves you" Tobin said squeezing Christen's hand a little bit tighter. They were interrupted when the surgeon came out to update them.

"Is she out of surgery yet?" Kelley asked.

"Yes, she is now being taken up to her room. You guys should be able to see her in about 20-30 minutes" the surgeon said. Christen, Kelley, and Tobin all let out a breath they didn't know they were holding.

"How'd the surgery go?" Tobin asked.

"It went good. We were able to repair the compressed spine. We believe that's why she was unable to feel her legs. We're hoping that this fixed that issue. As you know, her right hip is broken so we put pins in. They are permanent so she won't need surgery to take them out. Her collarbone should heal on its own with the use of the sling for 4-6 weeks. As for soccer, we're expecting that if this surgery went correctly and with a lot of rehab she should be back" the surgeon explained before he went back to work.

"This is gonna be a long recovery for her" Christen said.

"Physically and mentally" Tobin replied.

"I just can't believe he died. We were all so happy and on our way to dinner. Why do these bad things keep happening to her. She doesn't deserve any of this" Christen said before she broke down in tears. Kelley and Tobin were quick to pull her into a comforting hug. Kelley new she had to stay strong for her 3 best friends. Hell, she was upset too but she didn't have to witness and live through what they did.
