"Fire? We haven't seen fire in many generations...I don't think there are any fire wielders left..." I heard the voices from a tunnel. Something else pulled me into a vision.

Fire who was on fire, and then images of pain, fear. Someone was hunting them, they were being hunted. No! Someone has to save them. The little girl had blonde hair straight to her back and the most innocent blue eyes. The wolf stood in front of her. Cornering her in her bedroom and I stood watching as a third party. The master to the wolf stood behind the beast. Whistle stuck between his lips and I wanted to smack it out of them. I didn't know if this was the past or present...future? I would show him how fire could burn. The shrillness of the whistle was only drowned out for about half a second when the wolf lunged at the girl. I heard a wale from her mother who was being held back by who I would assume was her father. Both crying as this beast ripped apart their child. Not calling the animal off until there was nothing left and he turned to the parents.

"You know fire talent is forbidden please do not make me return." He whistled and the wolf snarled as he passed them and the mother burst from her husbands' arms and he nearly smothered her with his grip before she could speak. The hunter didn't stop and my anger grew and grew. I felt the fire eat at my insides. This thing was no man, I didn't know what he was but let me find him and he would learn why he feared fire as a child.

A whisper fluttered through my mind. No, I needed to see this hunter's face. To know I was going to take every once of his ability to control that animal and then I was going to turn it on him, to show him the helplessness of that little girl.

"Evie...come back to me." My body became alert to the whisper. Grey...it was like a life preserver calling to me. Floating me to the surface.

"That's my girl, just a little more Evie...you're almost there." I'm coming Grey. Wait don't leave me yet. I sat up in bed covered in a fine layer of sweat my mother the only person in the room and I looked at my surroundings.

"Mom? I'm scared..." She frowned and came over to me. Taking me into her arms cradling me to her protecting me like the mother in my vision wanted to hold her baby. I reached out to my mother mentally and emotionally and her back snapped straight.

"Eve..."I saw it, the ember deep in her power center. All it needed was a little wind...

"Mom...I can fix this..." I reached out and ever so gently 'blew' on it. And it flared to life. Flare is like an understatement. It burst like a damn firework out of her. She nearly came up off the bed.

"Evie what did you do?" She gently sat me aside and looked down at her hands and then back to me.

"I didn't dare hope or even think..." She cried wrapping her arms around herself like she had finally found the piece of her soul that had been missing for years. She felt right with herself now and I knew it felt good for her. She started to giggle and hiccup and I pushed the blankets back over my feet and she looked at me.

"Darling child. You are so much more than I could have ever of dreamed." She kissed my forehead and reached a hesitant hand out to the flower by the window. And it's pulse strengthened and it bloomed.

"It was never taken...just dulled. I can try to explain it to you." She nodded and took her seat again.

"When you touched me it could feel it right here." I pointed over her heart and she nodded. And I could still see the light within her.

"You are too bright mom...it's the softest white light I have ever seen. You have an affinity for nature...it was like an ember...burning rightly just waiting for someone to come and give it some air." I frowned and while the description was accurate enough. It did not truly describe the way her power burst back into life. It was never taken from her and I thought back to the note pushed under the door when I was hidden at my father sentencing. And then to the pieces of the conversation, I remembered with Grey. He had the ability to step through time. He had the power to be able to take someone else's...
