I woke early and Lily was still passed out next to me in bed. My mom was standing in the doorway with what smelled like a cup of coffee. She seemed nervous like she wanted to say something but didn't know-how.
"Evie—the college isn't on protected land...if Ben comes to you..." I smiled at her and she was chewing on her lip.
"Mom—I am not the same girl that he knew. I've learned a lot, you have taught me a lot. I have part of my coven with me, I will be safe I promise." She smiled weakly.
"He ripped my family apart once...I don't want to give him an opportunity to do it again. Please take Vivian, I know you guys don't get along very well...you can take two cars more room for things...but at least then you'll have a full coven with you." I sighed and looked up at her from my bed.
"Will that make you feel better mom? Me taking Vivian?" She nodded and I sighed.
"Alright. If that makes you feel better I will ask her if she wants to go with us." My mom smiles a little more relaxed. And I sat up looking at the clock it was about 8 we needed to start getting ready. I pulled out my phone and texted Vivian...who had unwittingly given me her phone number after my mother spoke to her about how a coven was supposed to act.
Would you like to come with me to my old college to pick up my things from the dorm?
Do I HAVE to?
No, but it would nice everyone else is going we wanted to at least invite you along.
What time?
We are leaving within the next hour.
Fine.
Now that the unpleasantness was out of the way I walked to my dresser and pulled out a comfortable pair of jeans and a tank top before going into the bathroom to get a shower.
"Sweetie, Victor and Grey are here." My mom called into the bathroom. I turned off the water and Lily was shuffling into the bathroom to get ready. I pulled on my clothes and roughly dried my hair fully intending to just pull it up into a ponytail. I brushed my teeth and Lily looked at me through tired eyes.
"You aren't going down there like that are you?" I frowned and looked down at my clothes.
"Like what?" I didn't understand what her problem with my clothes were.
"Like a drowned dog?" My mouth popped open and she shook her head.
"You have witch fire! Are you kidding!" She shook her head again and stood in front of me.
"You could warm your hair dry it and style it with your hands! Wasted potential." I looked at her and then to my hands.
"The last thing I need is to set my hair on fire." I pulled out my styling tools. I took my time and did my hair and then pulled it up into a ponytail, it still tickled my back. I walked downstairs pulling my arms into the sleeves of a jacket. My father was about to get up to make breakfast when my mom, Lily and I walked into the kitchen. Vivian was nowhere to be seen, but it was easy to assume that we would have to pick her up.
"We will pick something up to eat along the way." I turned to look at my coven and they were most eager to get on the road. They had probably never really set foot on a college campus. I walked out of the house and Grey was hot on my heels. I got up into my father's truck and Grey got in the driver's seat. Victor and Lily got into Lily's car and they pull up in front of us.
"We will head down to pick up Vivian, meet you at the crossroads?" Grey nodded and started the truck.
"Anything...I should know about before we get there?" I frowned for amount, not sure what he was talking about.
