"Attorney!" Pasigaw na sabi ng assistant kong so Beauford, "May nagpapabigay po" aniya.
"I told you I don't accept any deliveries, right?" Sabi ko sa kaniya. Baka death threat naman yan.
"Pero Attorney-" I cut him off, "You want me to receive death threats? You do know halos lahat ng deliveries na nakukuha ko ay mga banta diba?" sabi ko, "Throw it out." I added.
"I don't think getting beautiful flowers from someone is a death threat, Atty." aniya kaya tinignan ko ang hawak niya. It's a bouquet of sunflowers. My favorite.
"I don't care. You know what? Leave it there at the table. I'll throw it later." ani ko.
"I can throw it for you-" naputol ang sasabihin niya nang makita niya na tinitignan ko siya ng masama, "-okay iiwan na po." Sabi ni Beauford at iniwan ang flowers sa lamesa.
Napatingin ako sa paligid. Walang tao. I grabbed the bouquet and smelled it. Hmm, so fresh. I wonder who sent me these? I read the card that was attached to it.

I took the empty vase on the shelf of my office at nilagyan ko ng sunflowers. Wait, kailangan lagyan ko ito ng tubig...
Kumuha ako ng tubig mula sa water dispenser at inilagay ko rin sa vase. Well this will do.

Nevertheless, I still answered it, baka importante. "Hello?" ani ko, pero walang sumagot. "Who is this?" wala pa rin. "Look, if you're playing a prank on me, it's not funny."sabi ko sa kaniya at pinatay ang tawag. Might as well block this number. Tsk.
I spent the rest of the day making calls with my clients and accepting appointments. Nakakapagod.
I decided to call it a day, at nang lumabas ako ng opisina ay sinalubong ako ni Beauford. "Attorney, tumawag ang secretary ng ceo from Cooper Industries, they want you to become their company lawyer. Hihingin daw nila ang sagot mo through an appointment because they want to discuss matters with you personally." Cooper Industries? I wonder why it's so sudden, at bakit ako?
"Tell them I said yes, and update me regarding the time and place." ani ko, "And also, about the Charity Ball na pinapaorganize ko, ayos na ba?" Dagdag na sabi ko Kay Beauford "Yes Attorney, a month from now pa yung event but everything is all prepared already. Invitations were already sent and most of the invited are coming. May idadagdag pa ba kayo Attorney?" Tanong niya.
