Chapter 9
Paul
I fell asleep walking to my room, but I tried to stay awake. I passed out right on my bed, my shoes and hoodie still on. When I woke up, I heard shuffling, rustling. A knock on my door, rapid. The person knocked again. I mumbled "Come in" and the person came in. It was Notch.
He looked a little uncomfortable, being in my room. I pushed my hair to one side, and looked at him. His eyes were bloodshot, and his hair was messed up. He looked to one side, but didn't look directly at me. I wondered what he wanted.
"I, well, I need some help." I nodded. What the heck did he want?! "I need your help on my PvP skills." He whispered, and my jaw dropped. The man who created PvP was asking for my help?! WHAT?! I nodded.
"I'll help you. What do you need help with?" Notch smiled. He motioned to the door. "Come outside, lets take a walk. I am soooo hungry. Even as an immortal being I get hungry once in a while." He chuckled, and I laughed like Bodil. (IRL, Paul can actually do a very good representation of Bodil40's laugh. It's hilarious to listen too....)
We both got breakfast, which by the way was some fried chicken, not really a breakfast food but that was okay, and we walked outside.
"So, let's get to Herobrine's dead courtyard, we can practice there, right?" I asked, looking over to Notch for his confirmation. He stared off into the distance. "Notch?" He shook out of it, looking at me. "Yeah, sounds good." And he drifted off again.
"Notch? Can you tell, well, can you tell if people have problems?" Notch looked over, curious. "I mean, like, can you tell if a person has a problem in their life besides the nature of life?" Notch nodded. "It's a semi-skill. I can partially read people's problems, but it's hard and takes a lot of energy. Already I feel the drain of energy here in Herobrine's mansion, it's darkness sucking up the light. And I hate every single part about it." He shivered. "I don't really know. It's hard to read peoples problems in my situation. I just need all of my energy focused on this battle, and we all know who will win." He sighed.
"Well, will you respawn? If you die to Herobrine?" I asked, looking around at the black hedges that lined the walls in which we were walking. Notch shook his head. "I don't know. Maybe, since I created the world, but I don't really know. I've never died before, so I wouldn't know. I heal super fast though, so lets hope that I don't have to deal with that in the arena." I nodded, thinking hard. If he died, Minecraftia would be handed over to Herobrine, and I didn't like the thought of that. I had to train him well.
"Hold on, stay here. I'm going to get some friends. Mitch, Emily, and Jerome, okay?" Leaving him in the courtyard, I raced back to the mansion, looming above me. It seemed like it was always night here, in the courtyard. I ran inside, yelling. "EMILYYYY! MIIIIIITCH!!! JAYROME!" I heard three "WHAT!?!?!?!" They all appeared from Emily's room, holding cards. Emily looked at Mitch's cards, moaning. "Come on, Mitch, you had an ace and you didn't tell me?!" He laughed.
"Guys, come on. We have to train Notch! He's in the courtyard, hopefully alright. I hope. Gosh, come on, let's go!" Emily dropped her cards, jumping over the railing and landing as gracefully as a cat. The other two ran down the stairs. Emily and I ran out the door first, disappearing in the dark hedges. Mitch and Jerome looked around, confused.
"Where did they go?" Mitch asked, looking to Jerome for help. Jerome shrugged. "I dunno, biggums. Maybe that way?" He pointed to the path on the left. They forged ahead.
Notch
Where did Paul go? I wondered, looking around. I heard distant yelling, someone, presumably Paul, yelling something that sounded like "JAAAAYROMMMEEEE!!!!" Which I assumed Paul was calling for Jerome, however....
