I hate myself for what I did, casting him out like that. Although this is one of the many things I will never say out loud, I was wrong. My parents' fate lead my head and I followed it, instead I should have let my heart do the choosing but I didn't. And the result...

I lost my best friend.

"My Lord. The horses are ready." I turn to Percival, stood at the door to Gaius' chamber. I nodded and followed him out to the court yard, where there were five horses waiting. I frowned. "Five horses? There's six of us."                                                                                                                                                   I was expecting a snarky comment from Merlin about me being able to count... until I remembered what my idiocy had managed to do...
