Hey, guys! Welcome to the first chapter of Acceleration!
In Acceleration, Shayne will be finding himself into five pesky situations with Y/N, and they are as follows:
1. Rivalry, Rain, Ramen, Romance? - Shayne and Y/N share one umbrella during an unusually rainy day in Los Angeles.
2. Too Close for Comfort - Shayne can't get Y/N, the girl who tripped on him, spilled his coffee, and almost kissed him, off his mind for a good reason.
3. Not Bad, but Not Good - How would Shayne avoid his one night stand if Y/N seems to be everywhere?
4. Seating Arrangement - Shayne hates his flight seatmate Y/N, but when she disappears into the crowd, he finds himself looking for her.
5. Pact - When Shayne turns 30 single, he turns to childhood friend Y/N to keep their pact: they try dating as a joke.Anyway, lettuce begin! Lettuce. Begin. In Shayne's point of view. See ya!

The rain pours hard.
I don't even know why it had to be today of all days, when I told myself that, hey, I don't need an umbrella. I don't need to go to work on a car today. It had to be today, when I thought the sun wanted to shine on my face as it wore sunglasses.
Needless to say, I was annoyed by this, but I didn't want to show it on my face. I had to keep my cool, because I could wait for the rain to stop anyway. Los Angeles rain happens, yes, but when it's sudden, it also suddenly stops. Besides, it's only six in the evening anyway.
Eventually, I watch my friends and co-workers leave the building one by one, waving me goodbye and some even offering to give me a lift. I simply declined, knowing that I could make it easily anyway and because I didn't want to bother anyone. When I watch Ian leaving though, it hits me: I can't wait any longer than this. When the freaking president leaves, that means you only have a maximum of thirty minutes to wait until the building's closed, and my stupid ass didn't even think of borrowing an umbrella from the set.
Sometimes, I wonder why I even graduated.
Ian left at around seven in the evening, so by 7:30, the building's going to be closed, because GMM people left way earlier than us. Twenty minutes had passed, the rain got even stronger, and I was tapping my foot like crazy on the floor, waiting for it to just stop.
"Uh, sir, aren't you going to leave?" the guard asks me as I lean against a wall.
"I left my umbrella and I didn't get to work on my car today," I explain to him, slightly frustrated. "I can wait 'til the rain's over, I guess."
"Oh, that rainfall's said to last for the rest of the night," he replies. "Too bad we don't have extra umbrellas in here. There's still someone in the building though, maybe she has an umbrella."
We both turn around to see a frantic Y/N running outside of the Smosh office with her ID. She signs out of the office immediately and runs towards us. "Oh, hi, guys!" she exclaims before panting. "Oh, I almost thought I was gonna get caught there by closing time. Shayne, what are you doing here?"
"My question is, what are you doing here?" I ask, crossing my arms. "We ended shooting an hour ago. Why are you still here?"
"I did some extra work," she answers with a smirk. "How about you? Looks like you're stuck out here, aren't you? That's what you get for not checking the Weather app on your phone. It's there for a reason, man."
Y/N and I somehow never got along on Smosh. She joined the crew a couple of years ago, and even though she wasn't a cast member, we never got along so well. As a production assistant, people would expect us to be great friends because she has to make sure I'm able to do crazy stuff comfortably. As co-workers, we're pretty okay, but outside of work, we would argue constantly. As the resident nice person of Smosh (aside from Damien, who is way nicer than I am and also Kimmy), I don't like having bad blood between me and my friends. But Y/N is a freaking exception, to the point that Ian threatened to have us work without pay if we didn't stop arguing.
