Hey, guys! Welcome to the first chapter of... Inertia!

Now, Inertia has five chapters involving Damien into a series of situations that seem to apply the law of inertia.

1. Good Night's Sleep - After a party, Damien has to carry drunk Y/N into her apartment so she gets home safe.
2. Trouble in Paradise - Damien and Y/N, running into a hotel after a sudden storm, find themselves in a hotel room with only one bed.
3. Every Color - Y/N thought no one else could see that shade of green until she met Damien.
4. Stay, Maybe? - Y/N visits Damien at his apartment after not seeing him at work, only to see him sick.
5. Kinda Electric - After a trippy electric shock between Damien and Y/N, she just couldn't forget about him.

Anyway, there will be 2200+ words per chapter, and the chapters will alternate between the three laws. Shall we get started, then? This one is in Damien's perspective. See ya!

Sometimes, I wonder what is it about alcohol that makes people spit out the truth. I don't drink, so it really gets confusing for me whenever my friends do and they start to talk about everything they never say.

"Thank you guys so much for two successful years here at Mythical!" Ian shouts into the microphone as everyone cheers. "I know sometimes it's a bumpy road, but I'm glad we continue to keep giving content and making people happy! For now, let's just celebrate... cheers!"

It really was a fun night, because it marked the second year of being in Mythical and we were having the time of our lives. Some of us drank, some of us didn't, and some of us were just thinking about how time flew a little too quickly. I stare outside the window of Smosh's office, watching Californian lights twinkle as we partied, and as much as I was happy about the two years we've spent here, I was also thinking of something else.

Y/N.

She spun into our lives a good year ago, and every time I saw her, I felt like I was floating in heaven. She was all sorts of magical, mythical even, and I could only admire her from afar. I treated her as family, but a part of me wanted to sweep her off her feet and take her home maybe. Not only was she beautiful, she was also charming, and charming in such a way that one Damien Christian Haas would like. She watched animes, she played games, she loved both dogs and cats. I don't know how you can meet such a perfect person, but people say it's destiny.

When the night starts to arrive and everyone's going home, there are a few ones almost knocked out from all the celebrating. I was getting my things and my keys when Ian taps me on the shoulder and points at the nearby cubicle. "Hey, uh, look," he says, still pointing. "Y/N is pretty drunk."

"Oh, yeah," I mumble. "I've never seen her pretty wasted before."

"Can you take her to her apartment?" he asks. "I don't think she can drive well and I don't think she can get home on her own. I have to drive some pretty wasted people too."

"Oh, yeah, sure," I tell him, raising my thumb up as he pats me on the back and leaves. I look over to Y/N's cubicle where she's... crying?

"Hey, Y/N!" I greet her, smiling. "Ian told me to drive you home tonight, so... why are you crying?"

"I was... reading this book yesterday...," she mumbles, still in tears. "My favorite character died... and I still remember it..."

"Uh, who was it?" I ask as I get her things and carry them along with mine. She sobs a little louder so I just gently shush her. "Um, it's okay, Y/N. Maybe next time, they'll revive your favorite character, but for now, we gotta head home, okay?"

"He was a fan-favorite!" she shouts, standing up and getting on top of her table. "HE WAS A FAN-FAVORITE! How could he just die like that?!"

Yep, charming. Told you so.
