After what felt like the longest 7 hours of my life, we finally landed in Cairo, Egypt. We got out the airport as soon as possible and tried to find our way as best as we could to our hotel . We rented out a car for the week we were there as trying to get a cab everywhere seemed like too much work for the time being. We seemed to have gotten a little lost on the way but we eventually found the hotel from trying to translate some of the signs. I knew bits and pieces of poorly spoken Arabic from my time in Dubai and it wasn't the best but it helped us get where we needed.

We signed in at the receptions desk and got to our room, and we decided to leave the remaining hours of the day left to rest and recharge ourselves. Tomorrow morning we head out to the Western Desert to investigate in those pyramids, and it really was the last thing I wanted to do right now. We'd have to remain in the blistering sun for however long and god knows what lies in the desert. The thought of it sent shivers down my aching spine.

An hour went by as I lay on the bed just trying to go to sleep but since I had already slept on the plane, my eyes were refusing to sleep any longer. I glanced over at my phone and seeing as my boredom led me to it, I called Harper.
It wasn't long until he answered, but every ring felt like an eternity without him.
"Hello?" He spoke. What was wrong with me? I found myself just staring at the ceiling, not saying a word. "Sonny?" I snapped out of my daydream and spoke back.

"Oh, sorry. Hey."

"Safe journey?" It was stupid but my heart fluttered at the sign of him caring.

"Yeah, we're okay. In the hotel room just chilling."

"Yeah, long day I guess." I smiled forgetting he couldn't see it.

"Anyways, I'll let you go now."

"But you just called."

"I know." And with that, I hung up. It had to be his most unnecessary phone call but for me it wasn't. I wasn't exactly sure to why I had called him, maybe just to hear his voice but ever since Brook mentioned me being 'in love' with him I haven't felt like myself. Sure, I felt a little more free just almost coming to terms with it, but boy I didn't expect it.
While being lost in my own thoughts, I fell asleep without even realizing it.

I was woken up the next day by Brook yelling from half way across the room.
"Wake up!" I wearily opened up eyes and wiped the drool off my mouth.#

"What?"

"I've been trying to wake you up for the past 10 mins."

"Whatever." I got out of bed and went straight to the shower, letting the hot water eat me whole. Just when I expected it, my shower thoughts came to visit but they were all about understanding what I felt about Harper. Wasn't really surprised though, lately he's all that's on my mind.

After getting dressed, we went outside in the scorching sun and hopped in the car. We gathered the equipment and drove off, heading to the Western Desert to make a start on the discovery.
Egypt was truly beautiful, call me a sucker for ancient stuff but no doubt was it one of the most relaxing places I've been to.

We arrived at the edge of the desert and realized that our car wouldn't make it through the sand so we had to walk. I have to say, walking through that much sand definitely wasn't one of the easiest things I've had to do but it was somewhat cleansing to be going for a stroll somewhere as peaceful as this. The extreme sun shone down on me, making it hard to see what's ahead of me.

"Get the radiation detector out and follow the higher frequency." I told Brook.

We followed the numbers to the apparent place of the pyramids but it seemed it lead up to another discovery sight of archaeologists. Being curious and all, we walked up to them.

"Anyone here?" I called. Climbing out of the dug up hole in the ground was a dark haired man, but I didn't get to see his face properly.

"Afternoon!" Exclaimed another man from behind us. We turned to face him and greet him. He explained to us that they were digging up a pyramid with the exact coordinates as the pyramids we were looking for. They beat us to it. We saw their crew members and they were our crew, they took them.

"Listen, I can make a deal with you." The old man began. "We will agree to share this discovery with you as your company is one of the best out there. You can have your crew back, all we ask is that you include us in the name."

"How is that fair" Said the dark haired man behind us. I turned to face him and argue back.

He had pitch black hair with a slight bit of curl. Deep blue eyes like the ocean or the pure sky above us and he seemed to have a few face piercings. One on this nose, and a silver lip bar.

"Fair isn't in the game anymore. You knew we were coming."

"Proof?" He grinned slyly.

5 seconds into knowing him and he already triggered my anger issues.
