"She's just stressed, Bri, of course she's acting weird, her marriage with Chris is on the rocks," Briar sighed out as she sews the red fabric.

"Yeah, how would you act if the love of your life cheats?" Riot added as she grabs studs red lace out of Briar's fabric basket.

They do have a point. I'd be devastated if my boyfriend or husband cheated on me, not once, but numerous times. But, that doesn't answer what Liz was so afraid of me seeing. What did she throw away?

"We'll check after she leaves with Lyn-Z tonight," Riot added when she saw that I wasn't letting this go. Even if the girls didn't believe me, I was gonna check alone anyway. I just nodded, and Briar turned on the tv to break the uneasy silence, the channel was on the news.

" Breaking news! 16 year old, Bri-"

Riot and I gasped loudly and I jumped to the bed and grabbed the remote and turned to Tosh.O Briar sent us confusing looks.

"Uh, we love Tosh.O, we never miss an episode," Riot quickly lied, I went along with it and nodded my head. I didn't really care for Tosh.O, I've always thought that he was a douche, even though he was being paid to do it, I never liked it.

Thump!

"Did you hear that?" Briar asked.

We nodded and poked our heads out of the door and stared at Liz picking herself from the floor, she picked up her phone and put it to her ear.

"Yeah, I'm here, sorry, I fell, but anyway...I need it...okay, I'll pick it up before Lyn-Z and I go out, okay, thanks so much, bye,"

We slowly closed the door and looked at each other with concern. What was it that she needed?

There was a slight knock on the door, breaking us from our suspicions, Briar slowly opened it and there was a smiling Liz dressed in her usual black skinny jeans, a band shirt, and converses. She dresses like she's still 16 or something sometimes.

"Hey, girls, I'm leaving now, I'll be back by ten, remember don't open the doors for strangers, help yourselves to the food, I have some movies in my room to borrow if you wanna check them out, love you girls!" She says all too happy. We waved goodbye and when we were sure she was gone, we scampered to her room and went through her closets, drawers, bathroom cabinets, even trash bins. We were looking for anything that answered our suspicions, but we found nothing.

"Maybe we're a little paranoid," Briar suggested. I sighed. She's right, we're only paranoid because we care about Chris and Liz and with their situation going on, we were worried they were going to do something stupid. We nodded in agreement and grabbed some movies and had a movie night in the living room until we fell asleep on each other's shoulder. I was soon awakened by distant whimpering, sniffing and words being cursed out. I opened my eyes and watched Liz on all fours, climbing up the stairs. She finally sat on one of the stairs, quietly crying, I could only see her feet. She started whispering something.

"Chris...I miss you...why did you do what you did? We wouldn't be in this mess, I wouldn't be the train wreck I am now...please get better, I need you back..." I could feel my eyes burn from tears forming, I felt sorry for her. I wanted to hug her and comfort her, but I didn't want it seem like I was spying on her, so I stayed still and watched her feet disappear upstairs.
