Kanji..is actually the birth name of Agent 8.
By the time Eight got to the surface, he had most of his memory back, but he still couldn't remember his own name. It was Juniper and Terrance who had given him the name 'Kazuki' until he could find out his real name.
And he did find out some time later, from his own parents no less. It was a sweet reunion of the Eika family.
