I spent the next day walking all around Las Noches, idly sightseeing.

I soon found that the strange curved wall that was being built was to be a full-out dome, saw the scrawled bits of graffiti, and made notes of the exits.

I shinnied up the side of a building, ran and jumped onto another roof, and repeated the process until I was standing on the wall.

I turned around, slowly looking at the little cluster of towers and buildings, then at the vast desert of nothingness that lay ahead.

I sat on the lip of the wall in defeat.

Nothing sprawled before me, God knows what lay behind.

"Sightseeing?" A voice said, yanking me from my thoughts.

I turned and looked-then glared nastily at the man.

"Yeah. But, if I'm perfectly honest, your presence isn't helping my bad mood."

"I suppose not," He replied with a ghost of a shrug.

I ran a hand through my hair in annoyance.

"Just why am I here, will you at least tell me that?" I hissed.

"That, would take much explaining. I don't believe it is the time for you to hear it," He said, leaning against the wall.

"I see..." I gave him a stalefaced glare, "Why would the 'King of the Night' bother with me? What is it you want?"

He gave an amused half-smile, "It isn't-"

"Spare the God-awful riddle, please."

He raised his brow a bit, then settled back into his seemingly permanent glare, "Stop cutting me off, and I may get to that. As I was saying, that explanation is for another time."

I sighed.

"I'm sure I could get more information out of Gin," I scoffed under my breath, drawing my knees and resting my head on them.

"I am not deaf."

"I know."

He glared.

"Listen, I really don't have time for this," I hissed, "I have to get back home ASAP-so, please, tell me whatever the hell you want."

He stared at me venomously, "Your dreams. That is what I require of you."

"What the hell?" I nearly fell off the wall at the ludicrousy, "I'll write them down and send every damn one to you, if that's all you need, jeez!"

"...Why do you wish to return so quickly?" He inquired, fixing me with a curious smile.

"I have people, they'll need me," I replied. Truth was, my family didn't need me much; Goldie was pretty drunk and happy with her own family, Dad was off on a work trip, and Jeremy was away at college. Sure, he was probably worried that I wasn't answering his texts, but he also knew I had a tendency to forget to pay the bill. My friends, however... They would worry more when the week was out, what with me not returning home from my mother's... And some truly did need me around.

He seemed to look right through me.

"I see," He said, reading my face, "You miss them, then?"

I glanced away, "Of course. What duche doesn't miss their family?"

"Indeed..." He murmured, looking away, then turned his attention back to me. He had an owlish look in the moonlight as he asked me, "Shall we make an agreement, then?"
