Though you have chopped my head off,
I shall still bite.
Whilst you have broken my fangs,
the venom is still coursing in your veins.
I am the snake.

The light of his monitor reflected palely on the lone man's stoic face.

Ichigo's training had been going well. In time, he would become a powerful 'Vizard,' as the past Captians and lieutenants called themselves. This was a promising thing...

He switched to his view of Khristalyn-

Aizen's eyes grew wide in surprise.

She has hollowfied this early? How curious... I supp-

Kisuke.

Aizen's glare immediately narrowed, but he wasn't entirely surprised. He had pulled the strings for her to be stationed there himself, after all.

Although he held the man in high regard, it was only for his intelligence. Otherwise, he was despicable...

He drew his brow as she collapsed, and was taken back to the Urahara Shoten, no doubt, to be treated. She would pull through under their care and would be safe, even if Kisuke was her unknown enemy...

...But, she would need to be extracted before she raised suspicion-Kisuke would certianly see something many would not...

But, that could wait for a few days.

He shut the monitor down, and rubbed a temple, sighing a bit.

Khristalyn had been here for over a month, and was progressing rapidly. The Hogyoku had not let either of them down, it seemed...

She was so stubborn... Yet so willing to do his bidding, just at the hope of getting her sister back. It was admirable, in a sense.

And also stupid.

Then, there was the note she'd left him, that was still unanswered;

What the actual hell did Soul Society do to you?

Perhaps, one day, he would tell-no, he would tell her of the treachery and tradgedy Soul Society inflicted upon them.

Though, that would take time... And a measured amount of trust.

"Gin, I am aware you are there," He addressed his subordinate curtly, "Do not spy on me."

Gin shuffled into the room, a sheepish grin plastered to his face, "Whatcha up to at this hour, Captian?"

"Simply monitoring things, as always," He replied distantly.

"Eh, I see," Gin murmured, considering his words, "Y'seem a bit worried, Cap... Is it about that kid?"

Aizen was surprised, though he didn't show it, "Whatever gave you that idea?"

"Y'can't lie to me, Cap, y'should know that by now," He shrugged with a grin.

Oh, can't I?

"I'm not worried. I'm simply deciding when to retrieve her. There's nothing else of my concern than what little knowledge she possesses-but she won't say anything; it would be her end," Aizen deadpanned.

"Ya so sure? She's a bit more manipulative than you'd think," Gin winked-or, squinted one eye more than usual.

Aizen smirked, and guestured to the monitor, "Indeed, she is. But she is also being closely watched."

Gin leaned back in his chair, yawning a bit, "Why do ya bother with her... It ain't no secret ya sent her on a wild goose chase, and she doesn't seem to be too useful."

Aizen sighed, "Indeed I have... However, she has provided sufficient information. The Gotei Thirteen expect us to strike months later than when we actually will."

"That ain't what I meant, Captian."

Aizen narrowed his gaze, but humored him, "What do you mean, then?"

"Ya treat her differently than most, ye look over her insolence-she even snuck into your room, and ye didn't do squat," Gin pointed out.

Aizen sipped his tea, and remained silent for a moment.

"I am simply playing my part. She will cooperate easier this way," He stated plainly, "Don't question my methods, when it has gotten us this far."

Gin shrugged, and left, "Whatever ya say, Captian."

Indeed...

Aizen sighed, knowing he was alone.

Why, indeed, do I treat her differently? ...How ignorant of him.

He shook his head, and flashstepped to his room, where he opened a window then attempted to finish a sheet of calligraphy... But tonight, it was not to be.

Khristalyn's note fluttered off his desk.

What the actual hell did Soul Society do to you? It inquired.

What a preposterous question.

And yet... What a difficult answer.

If only she remembered... But, she was only a child, then... She shouldn't be able to remember a thing... or person...

He looked a the moon, hanging low over his small kingdom. The dome was nearly finished, but one could easily see the sky through the unfinished crack. It was slightly depressing to shut out the sky like that, even if its was always night here... He returned to his desk, and laid a new paper down.

What a profound girl... She isn't concerned about herself whatsoever. Instead, she worries more about her friends and wishes to get her sister back...

He slightly smiled, Sounds like Jocilyn...

He cringed a bit, hand involuntarily grippin the edge of the desk.

Out of all emotions, Aizen hated sorrow and loss the very most-no sword could possibly stab like it, no kido could ever burn like it did, and not even time itself could outlast it...

He took a breath, trying to push it away... but to no avail.

...Not many people knew much of Aizen's past before he joined and became a lieutenant of Squad Five.

And that was exactly how he preferred to keep it then, and now. He had even proven that by erasing any past data on himself many years ago.

No one, not even when he was a Captian, dare spoke of it around him.

But then again, no one wanted to cause the seemingly sweet Captian any grief back then... But, stories had gotten passed around all the same. Though, the stories had eventually died, and been replaced with newer buzz since, leaving many in the dark about just what had happened.

But, no matter how many years had passed, the wounds were just as fresh as the day they had been cut...

He sighed again, and pushed the thought away. No matter what he did, he couldn't reverse time and prevent it, no matter how much he wished to...

But, the future was his to take...
