"Think, think, think," Roya had been pacing up and down the floor for an hour. Calypso and Andrel had gotten so bored, that Calypso was conjuring up water animals in the air.
"It's a crocodile!" Calypso said proudly as a shape hovered in midair.
"It's a snake," said Andrel. "They're all snakes. You can't make anything but snakes."
"Nonsense!" said Calypso. "Look, there's a leg...a-and there's another leg...oh dear, I've forgotten the head!"
"How are we going to find him?" Roya asked. "How are we going to stop any of this!?"
Calypso gave up on the animals. "Let's just threaten the guards. Set yourself on fire, and I'll drown one or something."
"I'm friends with psychopaths" Andrel said, looking wide-eyed at the floor.
"I don't want to kill anyone," Roya said.
"Yeah, well I don't want to die," Calypso said. "If we let them live, they'll warn Damien."
"Alright, alright," Roya sighed.
All of a sudden, they heard keys jingle and the door creaked open. Roya nodded to Calypso.
"You really should knock you know," Calypso said. "What if we were all naked in here or something?"
Andrel and Roya looked at her incredulously.
Calypso shrugged "I don't know, I was making a point."
Roya sighed, and turned to face the guards. "Let me make this very clear," she said, allowing her hands to go up in flames. Orbs formed around Calypso's hands. Andrel, clearly not knowing what to do, awkwardly put his hands up in a fighting stance. The guards smirked, but Roya saw a hint of fear in their eyes. Without waiting for them to say anything, she ignited her whole body and leaped at them.
She landed, clinging on to the guard's robes, allowing her fire to spread to him. The guard screamed, and frantically clawed at her, but Roya held on tight. The other guard started to run away, but before he could, Calypso shot a ball of water at him, slowing him down. He grunted and continued walking. Calypso formed a huge ball of water, and encased his head in it.
"Take a deep breath," she said wickedly as she submerged his head. He screamed from inside the bubble, but to no avail...after two minutes, both guards lay lifeless on the floor. Roya bent down and closed their eyes, before leading the them out of the room.
"Where to?" asked Calypso.
"We need our weapons," Andrel said. "We passed a vault on the way in here."
"Lead the way," Roya said. Andrel lead them down hallways made out of rough stone, with only torches to light the walls. He stopped at a metal door.
"Here," he said, pushing the door open.
"The lack of security is depressing," Calypso said, as she walked in.
Andrel looked around, opening drawers and cabinets for a few minutes. "Aha! Found them!" Out of a cabinet he dragged the books, then his dagger, Roya's bow and quiver, and blankets.
"Hey what's this?" Calypso asked. She was staring down at a small piece of paper that laid on a table.
Andrel crossed over to her, and picked up the paper. "It's an address," he said. "913 Myrkur Road, Miraelin."
"Maybe that's where Damien is holding Arawn!" Calypso exclaimed. Roya's eyes lit up.
"We'll have to walk..."
"I think we're forgetting our main mission here," Roya interjected. "There are hoards of zombie-creatures out there, and their numbers are growing by the minute. We have a horse tooth, and a fox hair. We have to get to the Temple of the Moon, get a blazing star along the way, summon Cordelia, and I guess this will be stopped."
"We can't do that without Arawn," Calypso said. "We'll sneak in at night, grab him and run. We'll go to the Temple, it's the center of the Neutral Land. We'll be quick, and then all of this can stop."
Roya swallowed the lump in her throat. "Okay."
