Chapter 20: In Case Anybody Was Wondering...

7 3 2

This isn't an actual chapter. That'll be out tomorrow or Sunday. This is a chapter of what all the character's names mean, their origins, and things.

Just if anyone was wondering. Here they are.

Roya

Roya is a female name of Persian (Iranian) origin. It means sweet, dream, fantasy, premonition.

Which isn't really what I imagined for her character...but I'll take it!

Calypso

Calypso is a female name meaning "conceal, or she who hides". Calypso was also a Greek Demi-goddess a nymph of exceptional beauty who lived on a hidden island called Ogygia, and kept Odysseus as her prisoner and lover for seven years.

Andrel

Andrel is a boy's name of English origin. It means "strong, manly and brave"

Which is more of what I imagined when I envisioned Arawn, but Andrel is more of a hidden braveness and strength, whereas Arawn is very out-there in his manliness.

Arawn

The name Arawn is Welsh, and means "King of the Otherworld" which makes sense because Arawn would have been King of Miraelin if he hadn't run off. I got lucky. Arawn is also the name of the Unseelie King in The Dark Artifices

Damien Norak

The name Damien is Greek, and it means to "tame" or "subdue".

Norak is Indonesian, and means "conspicuous, striking, flashy, prominent, blatant"

I mean...yeah, pretty much XD. Damien is very flashy and charming.

Lyria

This was the only kingdom name that I could find the meaning of, and it's Greek and means "lyre" which is a type of instrument. Very musical.

Xida

And finally, Xida. It's Quapaw slang (I think that's a Native American tribe) meaning "large bird" such as a bald eagle.

Okay, well that's it. I just found it interesting, so I wrote it down in case anyone else was curious too XD

Until next time, take it easy guys, gals, and non-binary pals! Peace out!
