"Didn't wanna be a princess, I'm priceless. A prince not even on my list. Love is a drug that I quit. No doctor could help when I'm lovesick." - Jennie

JENNIE RUBY JANE KIM
I grew up in a political family where being praised was never new, especially to me. I was born with beauty and modesty that I got from my mom and a brilliant mind from my father.
A lot of people admire me for it every day and night. They adore me in every way and gain their respect, almost see me as an intimidating person.
I begin to get obsessed with myself as I continue living beyond their expectations and never disappoint the people who look up to me. Even in school, I always excel and remain on top of everyone.
I was living like a queen. I have everything that most people would want to have.
Success, Power, Brilliance, Beauty, Fame— Name all of it. But this kind of lifestyle already bores me.
I knew something is missing, and I've been searching for it for my whole life.
And that's when I met Lisa.
Ever since I saw her from Rosie's family photo frame in her room, something has changed.
One look, I knew she was worth something. One look, she caught my full attention. One look, I can't get her out of my head.
But before I even saw Lisa in a picture, Rosie told me something that never left my mind.
"My cousin is different, Jen. Unique. Special. Rare. But, she is not a woman, and... she is not a man as well."
I was confused at what she told me back when we were in the student council office, having our meeting for the school's festival. That made me want to know Lisa more.
When I heard that she is already here, I asked Rosie where she was staying. I found out that she was living in an apartment complex where my family owns.
I couldn't help but wanted to see her in person, so I decided to go even if it's already late at night.
I know it was a crazy idea to stalk someone, but I've never felt this way before. This strange and intense feeling and need of wanting to see someone and know them even more.
I was just outside the building, and I hide behind a lamppost, taking out my phone and call her.
I have her phone number already on my extra phone, and I got that from Rosie's contacts. She didn't know about that.
Her phone starts to ring, and I wanna hear her voice. I wanna know how deep or sweet her voice is. I just hope she would pick it up.
As I bite my nails in anticipation, a silhouette from outside the building, carrying plastic bags full of snacks and canned goods, stops as she took out her phone.
My heartbeat accelerates as I clutch my chest in realization.
It was Lisa.
"[Hello?]" I bite my lips and smile like an idiot, finally hearing her soft yet deep voice that sent shivers to my core.
