EXT. RUE DU RANELAGH, PARIS – 11AM
A wooden door, entrance to a building. Sounds of cars passing by, people walking and talking. ARIANE (23) is a short and tiny woman, wearing ripped jeans and a sweater that could hold 3 like her. Her long black hair is piled up in a messy bun. She is looking at her phone, leaning on the wall. A small truck honks and stops in front of the building. Her face immediately lights up and she runs to it. LUCAS (23) gets out of the truck. He is wearing jeans and a faded band t-shirt, his shoulder-length brown hair is messy, he has a beard. She jumps in his arms, holding onto him like a koala to its branch, legs around his waist. He holds her with a smile and kisses the top of her head.
LUCAS - I hope you didn't wait for too long.
(He puts her back on the ground and gently pushes a lose strand of hair behind her ear. She swats his hand away with a playful glare.)
ARIANE - Just open the truck already.
LUCAS - Yes, ma'am.
(He mock-salutes her and opens the truck, revealing loads of boxes, furniture, etc. Their voices blur as they start unpacking, going in and out of the building, from the truck to their new apartment.)
LUCAS (over-voice) - That adorable little ball of energy and weirdness, is Ari. I love her so much. I'd do anything for her. And the dashing young man carrying the heavier things, that's me. And this, us moving in together, is when it all started. (Pause). Actually, no, wait.
(Everything pauses.)
That's not when it all started, we need to go back a few years.
Lots of scenes flashing by (mess of images and sound), each of Lucas and Ariane together. Some images are foreshadowing the following scenes. It stops on one scene.
