(A/N: SIKE ITS NOT OVER! The chapters continue, and the story has only started...)
Klaus stared at the wall, the blank concrete giving no fuel to the imagination. The lightbulb above him was flickering slightly, making the shadows of the room bounce and shift like silhouettes.
An echo of a memory flickered like a candle in the back of his mind.
A voice.
Klaus stretched his neck sideways, trying to rid his head of the memory. The pull of the muscles, wasted away from lack of use, made him flinch.
But the voice never went away. It continued speaking, whispering in his ear and taunting him. Phrases she'd always say, turning and twisting till they became mere shadows of what she used to be.
Just like she was now.
You need to show less emotion... Maybe sewing your mouth shut will stop you laughing... I doubt you'll make it out alive... locked up like a mouse in a trap.... wasting away... you sell yourself to the highest bidder like a slave... just a criminal like the rest of us...
"You look like death warmed up."
Klaus's head snapped sideways. The shadowed corner of the cell twisted and turned like smoke, changing it's shape till it became her.
"Leave me alone. You're not here. You're not real."
She laughed. The rattle of her messed up lungS making Klaus twitch.
"Of course I'm real. You know my power A1M. And you're just so fun to play with, I just couldn't resist." She answered, giggling like a child. Klaus shook his head violently, trying to get rid of the girl in his head.
"Well I told you not to Annie." Klaus answered back brashly. The girl shrugged, pouting childishly.
"Still using that nickname? You always did show too much emotion. You get so attached." She retorted, her voice filled with wonder. Klaus looked away.
"I still said not to." He snapped. She rocked on the balls of her feet like a impatient kid.
"But I like visiting you. Even though you're never awake when I do. Always curled up into that Toby boy of yours." She voiced, sounding neglected, but laced with the hint of a threat. Klaus stood, anger flaring through him.
"DON'T YOU DARE SPEAK ABOUT HIM IN FRONT OF ME." He roared, making her giggle again
"It's funny that it took so long for it to click," she clicked her fingers at the word, "that he's The Red Hawk." Klaus glowered.
"Shut up." He snapped. She just giggled again.
"So angry all the time! Now what did Anderson say about emotions brother?" The way she said Anderson's name sounded like she was talking about her mother. Klaus flinched.
"Don't talk about that woman." He glowered. She kept giggling away like a child on Christmas Day.
"But she's the conditioner. She's what make us what we are." She answered, confused as a toddler even though Klaus knew she was aware of what she was doing. Klaus balled his fists.
"Get out. Get out of my head!" He screamed. She laughed again.
"I'll get you out of here soon, don't you worry." She grinned before backing into the shadow of the wall.
Klaus's head dropped to his chest, eyes closed, breath heavy.
"Why do you do this to me?" He asked to the empty cell.
"Because you're my little brother."
The wall to Klaus's right exploded.

The radio crackled slightly, playing something that TJ didn't care about while he sat at the computer. He was reading old Machiavellian reports, finding it hard to believe Klaus had done all these things, even when the costume now hanging in a plastic bag in the evidence room at the police station and the five duffle bags of cash found under Klaus's bed begged to differ.
As the song on the radio died away, it's sound was replaced by the voice of the news anchor;
"Hello listeners, this is channel 8 with your host Connor Rose.
Three prison guards and two prisoners have been killed and many others seriously injured when an explosion at Moye Prison, where criminals such as the assassin Machiavellian, who was finally arrested recently, are being held..."
TJ froze.
Oh no. Please god no.
