"You told me everything would be okay! Dad, what's going to happen to you and Dean? Are they going to lock you up?" I ask, fear and panic coursing through my body. Sam has just called me from Little Rock jail, informing me that they're holding him for a week.
"It's all part of the plan. I'll be back soon, don't worry."
"You're a fucking idiot, you know that? Both of you! Getting arrested for a case? Seriously? How dumb can you be!?" I shout at him. I take a deep breath and collect myself. "Did they ask about me?" I ask.
"Yeah. They asked where you are. I just told them you're safe, but they aren't going to stop looking for you. They sure as hell don't know where to start, so don't leave the bunker without a disguise if you want to stay safe." He tells me.
"Okay."
"Look, my time is up. I'll call you tomorrow, alright?"
"Okay. I love you."
"I love you, too." And just like that, he's gone.
I slam the phone down on the bed frustratedly, burying my head in my hands as I let out strained sob.
Soon, there's a knock on my door, Ophelia not waiting for an answer before she walks in.
Her and Charlie had been staying with me for the duration that Sam and Dean are going to be gone. Ophelia and I are becoming really close. I might even have developed a tiny crush on her.
She walks towards me, sitting on the bed in front of me. I look up and wipe my tears away.
"I mean, how dumb can they be?" I rant. "If the plan doesn't work, they're getting locked up for life. Like, what the hell? They're really going to risk that?"
"Well, from what I've heard and seen, Winchester's are crazy and impulsive as hell. And as stubborn as a mule. But they always make it out alive, right?" She asks, though she knows the answer.
I nod, letting another tear slip down my face. I shakily breathe out as she wipes it away with her thumb.
"Everything's okay." She whispers, bring me into a hug.
________
"Hey, how you holding up?" I ask.
"I'm supposed to ask you that." Sam laughs.
"Just answer the damn question so I can sleep at night." I demand.
"Dean got in a fight."
"What?!" I yell, Charlie and Ophelia turning towards me.
"Yeah... He's in solitary now." He answers.
"So, what, does this fuck up the plan?" I ask.
"I don't think so. It's only for a day."
"Idiot."
________
"We're getting out of here tonight. No matter what. I promise I'll be home soon."
"You're damn right you'll be home soon." I remark. "And when you are I'm going to punch you square in the damn face."
"What, no hug?" He chuckles.
"I'll hug you after I punch you."
"Look, I need you to research nurse Glockner. She worked here in the infirmary in the 70's. I need to know how she died and where she was buried." He says. "But I need it in five hours."
"Fine." I sigh.
________
"Glockner died in the old cell block right after that Moody guy. There was an inmate uprising. They put her in a solitary cell and caved her head in."
"You find where she's buried?"
"Gimme a second, goddamn." I complain, looking through the article. "Green Valley Cemetery, not too far from the prison."
"Okay. Thanks. I'll see you tomorrow."
________
I'm in the kitchen, making a sandwich, when the door creaks open and two sets of footsteps are heard walking down the stairs. I walk out, placing the unmade sandwich down to see the two Winchesters walking into the library.
A sigh of relief leaves my lips as I speed walk over to Sam, hugging him tightly. I pull away to look at him, pushing at his chest, though it doesn't move him much.
"You fucking idiot!" I scream at him. "How could you risk leaving me for that long!?" I bang on his chest frustratedly. He grabs my wrists.
"A friend needed us." He says.
"I need you!" I say, my voice shaking. I rip away from his grip. "All this shit for one spirit?" I turn to Dean.
"And you." I say, stepping towards him. "Don't even get me started on how much of an idiot you are. This was your idea!" There were no tears. Just pure anger. "You could've gotten both of your asses locked in a maximum security prison and left me without anyone! I need both of you, Uncle Dean!" I say, Dean suddenly bringing me into a hug.
"I have no one without you." I mutter, hugging him back.
