Nagito Kennedy was a pacifist. He didn't want to assassinate Korekiyo Bush. Instead, he banded a group of citizens together and argued with him until he gave up. This effort took multiple days and nights. After the argument, Korekiyo Bush stepped down as ruler and Nagito Kennedy stepped up. Nagito Kennedy restored the economy, the government, and the safety of the people in a matter of months. He restored the Divided States of Danganronpa to a democracy once more. He restored peace throughout the country, lead by the memory and legacy of his idol, Hajime Obama.

Peace lasted a very, very long time. The people were happy. Nobody was dying because of lack of food, anarchists were tamed and put into lion cages so they wouldn't hurt anyone, and the economy was thriving to the point everyone had enough money.

This was considered the Golden Age of the Divided States of Danganronpa. Theatre, art, literature, architecture, anything you could thing of, was thriving. Nagito Kennedy especially enjoyed going to watch the wonderful musicals produced by the beautiful actors and actresses living in his country. He would go see Hamman: A 'Merican Musical, Toothspray, and sometimes even Flyjuice.

While watching his favorite musical, Shuichi Wilkes Booth assassinates Nagito Kennedy by a shot in the back of the head. But Shuichi Wilkes Booth turns himself in straight afterward, as he doesn't want to be the ruler of this country.

So, the government, without a president, turn to the vice president....
