The Divided States of Danganronpa

The Beginning

The land that the Divided States of Danganronpa sits on today appeared out of thin air one day. Nobody knew what happened to cause what people would later call the Cataclysm of Cursedness, and that frightened them. As soon as people had word that there was a new country, one with a miraculous appearance and not one bit of already existing history, everyone wanted to check it out and see what all the fuss was about. So, people all over the world went to this new country to see what it was all about. Maybe it was land they could conquer for themselves? Upon arrival they were greeted with an already full functioning government, and a population of over 500,000. People were astounded! It had only been about a day and they already have a functioning society? Something seemed odd. But there was nothing odd about it.

So, people decided they needed to see who was running this fascinating country. People searched and searched for the place the government resided, but only one person found it. A man going by the name of Chris P. Bacon found the president and the rest of the government. At that moment, he found it was a democracy; the exact same kind of democracy the USA had been using. The president, Hajime Obama, did not like the new visitors. So he passed a law that said nobody can come in or go out of the country, and said all of the people there to investigate the new land mass had to go home, or they would have a very special punishment prepared for them by congressman Monokuma.

And with everybody gone, the country lived on in peace for many years. Until it didn't.
