How it all happened

Chapter two

"Do you know what happened and where you are?" he said to me, kneeling down and grabbing my arms, rubbing them slightly to calm me down.
"N-no... i just woke up and i was here.." i looked down but i could tell he was thinking about something. Did I say something weird?
"Where did you wake up exactly?" He said curiously.
I looked back and pointed to the place where I first woke up.
"I guess I f-fell on a broken floorboard and when I woke up I had blood all over my forehead s-so I wiped it on my sleeve.'' I showed them my sleeve which was covered in blood and they just stared at it. I felt nervous by the silence and I was about to start cry when Shuichi smiled at me.
"Maki, can you go check out angies research lab and I'll go take kokichi to get cleaned up. I'll meet you when i'm done ok?" she just nodded then left after she gave me one last look. She looked...like she was pitying me. This maki was different too but I could tell that she was still similar to the one I knew. Shuichi also mentioned angie...is she different too? What do they mean by a research lab and why do they need to investigate it? Before I could think about it more, Shuichi looked back at me and smiled slightly.
"Do you need help walking?"
"N-no! It's o-ok!" I said blushing a little. Yup, definitely different but not worse. Definitely not worse. He looked at me one more time before starting to walk. I followed closely behind him while looking around. This place had a strange feeling to it. Dark and sad. Something has definitely happened here and I need to find out what. I was about to ask shuichi but he started talking first.
"So...do you remember anything else from before? I remember you saying that maki used to bully you, which is true..." I heard him mumble the last part and I shook a little. He didn't notice though.
"..And i would protect you. What else happened?" he said looking back at me with a curious expression.
"W-well...like i said m-maki would bully me and you protected me..." i stopped for a minute then slowly continued.
"I was always bullied by Kaito,keade,maki,gonta,ect... I have no friends and I was always alone..except for you!" i said smiling widely at him which caused him to look away. I could tell he was blushing which caused me to blush too.
"You were obsessed with this one show but I forgot the name...you would talk about it all the time and you had no friends either because of your obsession with that show...But you would always hang out with me.." i smiled to myself. I think he saw.
"Everytime i would get bullied you would stick up for me and get hurt in the process...you were a little..Off though" he looked at me confused.
"You used to hate when i wouldnt like the show you did. You would force me to watch it and..lets just say you were scary.." he looked sad and he was about to talk but i cut him off this time.
"You though! You're very sweet and I can tell you wouldn't hurt anyone no matter what!" I looked at him again with a huge smile. He started blushing but this time he didn't look away. He just smiled back which made me very...happy? Yeah happy! I haven't felt happy in a while..heh..
We walked a little farther smiling to ourselves before it was my turn to ask the questions.
"So how was your kokichi?" he sighed and rubbed the back of his head.
"How do i put this...he was a liar" I looked at him confused and he continued.
"He would always mess around and lie about almost everything. I didn't know much about him and in fact no one did. Even though he acted bad I knew he had good intentions. I wished i knew more about him but he could be stubborn" he said laughing a little but then he suddenly had a serious face.
"He uhh...he was alone too. No one trusted him because of his lies and pranks..." I looked down and started fiddling with my hands. Is that really how he was or I was? Shuichi noticed I looked sad so he stopped walking and looked at me with a smile.
"I can tell you're the complete opposite though. Your sweet and shy but very kind" i started blushing and tried to cover my face with my hands. Shuichi just laughed and said we weren't too far. We continued walking and I was thinking about what he said. I think I can trust this shuichi....
