How it all happened

Chapter Ten

Kokichis pov
I woke up to what sounded like a morning announcement but I felt something fluffy on my face. It smelled like vanilla but at the same time like cinnamon. I reached my hand up and touched it only to find out that there was more of it. There was a lot of this fluffy thing but what was it? It was so silky and I loved it so I kept playing with it.
"Uhh..k-kokichi..."
hmm? How was this fluffy thing able to talk to me? And how did it know my name?
I opened my eyes and I saw a blushing shuichi staring at me. I looked at where my hand was and saw it was on top of his head. that fluffy thing was his hair...
I immediately started blushing and pulled my hand away. I tried to say something and then I looked at what I was laying on. I was on top of him and he had one hand around my waist. He followed my eyes and saw where his hand was then quickly moved it away.
"I-I-'
"S-Sor-"
We both tried to speak but we couldn't. I quickly got off of him and sat besides him staring at the ground. He sat up and looked the other way too. We just sat there in silence before I broke it. I looked at him with tears in my eyes.
"I-im so sorry! I didn't know that was you and i-i..." but before i could say anything more I felt him press his lips against mine. I was shocked and I just froze. He backed away quickly but he put his hands on my shoulders.
"I-I don't mind! I don't mind if you do that kind of thing because...I wanted you to!"
He started to tear up too and that's when I finally was able to move. I slowly put my hands on the sides of his face and I moved my head to his chest. I started crying but I didn't know why. He hugged me and kept stroking my hair.
"S-shuichi...I don't know what this feeling is..." We were both blushing like crazy and I could barely speak but I continued.
"M-my hearts racing and it won't s-stop. Not just now but always! When I'm around you I feel l-like I always want to be right there next to you...I wanna stay with you all the time and it hurts when I'm w-without you. My heart hurts when I see other people talking to you or when I see t-that you're happy with them instead of me. I-i...i dont get it! whats wrong with me..." I looked up at him and he was smiling but also crying.
"I have the exact same feeling kokichi...When i'm around you I feel so happy and I just wanna hold you and never let go." He then picked me up and put me on his lap.
"I want you to always be by my side and...I...I think i'm falling in love with you.."
I couldn't hold it in anymore. I started full on crying. That's What it was...love. I loved shuichi and he loved me back...it was love this whole time.
Before I could think anymore, Shuichi slowly leaned in but this time I leaned in too. I felt his lips on mine again and this time I kissed back. When we broke the kiss i hugged shuichi tightly and cried but it wasn't because i was sad...it was because for the first time in my life..i had someone i loved and would do anything for.

"I love you kokichi.."
"I love you too...more than anything"

And that's was when I found the love of my life in this crazy killing game.
