UtapauIt had been one long year since the Battle of Scarif where the Rebel Alliance captured the plans for the Death Star, then destroyed the dreadful super weapon shortly thereafter. It was also a year after the untimely death of one of Bat Squadron's vital leaders, Ian Morrin, also known as the General, Bat's, pod brother. Bat was still devastated by the loss and hadn't handled it well. He had been scarcely seen by the squadron's troops in the recent months. It was similarly difficult for him, not only losing his pod brother, but both of his sons in the same battle as well. Bat was sitting in his dark and unlit room, staring up at the ceiling, blankly. He slowly pulls himself up and tosses his covers aside. He glances over at the wall where a holographic image of him and Ian was hung up on the wall from their graduation, all the way from the beginning of the Clone War. He glances over at another picture of his wife, Fernanda with both their grown sons, ready for battle. Next to Fernanda was the clone commando known as Scars to the rest of the squad. Bat tries to fight back the tears but it was no use. They come streaming from his eyes and pour down his face. He was sobbing alone in his dark room but, this time he is interrupted by a knock on the door.
"Go away!" he screams.
"Bat..." A soft, soothing voice says.
"I...c...come in..." Bat says before looking down and staring at his feet.
The door opens and Fernanda walks in. She stares at Bat who was a total mess.
"Honey..." Fernanda starts.
"What?" Bat snaps.
"Bat...dear...this isn't healthy.... you can't live like this..." Fernanda tells him.
"Just let me die in peace!" Bat screams at her and starts bawling again, tears soaking into his dirty, ragged beard.
Fernanda walks over and gently wraps her arms around him and embraces him in a deep hug.
"It's ok...it's ok..." Fernanda tells him.
"I...I...I just can't believe.... he's really gone...that...they're gone..." Bat tells her sobbing.
"I know...I know..." Fernanda says trying to comfort him.
"I can't get over it... every time I close my eyes...I...I see...I see...Ian...his ship...I relive that moment every single night...I hear...Scout and Rocky...their screams...constantly..." Bat tells her.
Bat stares blankly past Fernanda's hug and he's there in the battle again.
