Disclaimer: Celeste and King Clarkson are the only ones who died in the last rebel attack I have decided to keep Amberley alive for this story.

**Americas POV

When I woke up the next morning I knew that I had to find a way to make sure that letter saying I'm dead doesn't get to Maxon. The handcuff was still around my wrist and I could tell there was going to be a bruise.

About an hour or two after I woke up a man comes in and throughs cloths and me and tells me to put them on before breakfast. I put on a half ripped blue shirt and a dark pair of black jeans which were much to big in the ankles, but to tight in the waist. The man finally came back he pulled me by my handcuff and brought me to a long hall. "Wait here he said" I stood there knowing if I tried to run away again they would just catch me.

The man brings me back a plate with a piece of stale bread on it with a cup of water that I could see stuff floating in it. I took it from him and he told me to sit and wait for "Madam Daphne" as he called her.

I sat there and nibbled on the bread which was disgusting. Then Daphne comes over and sits down and wicked smile stuck on her face. "Well hello America" she says.

I stare right into her cold eyes "hello Daphne" I say.

"Well I hope you slept well" she says a giant smirk on her face. "I just wanted to read you the letter I am going to send Maxon in less than an hour" she says

I look at her with a disgusted look in my face "I don't think so" but she ignores me and reads the letter.

Dear King Maxon,
We are NOT sad to inform you that we have killed your wife America. Don't bother coming for her remains we already through them in a lake. Hope you miss her.
From,
The Southern Rebels

Daphne has a evil grin plastered on her face. "Erik! " she barks "get over here!" A man immediately comes over. Daphne looks at me "this is Erik he is going to be your new husband" she says.

I am shocked "and why would you think that I would ever marry him." I say.

"Well your going to need someone to help you break into the palace..."  she says in a mocking tone.

"Why would I do that!" I yell getting worried for what she is about to make me do.

"This is what is going to happen Miss America Singer...I will give this letter to Maxon let him soak it in for a couple days then I am going to go to the palace to "comfort him" and that's when I will convince him to marry me...and while that is happening you will be forced to marry Erik break into the palace and kill Amberley and Maxon so that my fake husband can come be the new king of Illea for then France can own Illea as well." She says laughing at my stunned face.

"NO! I WOULD NEVER!" I yell in her face.

"I don't care because if you don't we will personally go kill both your brothers, sisters, and your mother" she says

My face falls she was going to kill my family if I didn't kill the former queen and the present king of Illea! I look at her disgusted.

"I'm sending the letter right now" she says and stands up "I hope you have a good rest of your day" she says and the leaves.

I sit there with my bread and water having been hardly touched. Daphne didn't even love Maxon, she just wanted the crown. I never thought of Daphne like that I just thought she had never given up on Maxon.

I needed to come up with a plan and fast.

**Maxons POV

The next day my thoughts were consumed by America. I couldn't think about anything without her flaming red hair, or crystal blue eyes popping into my head.

I had a meeting mid day to discuss what I wanted to do about America's disappearance. And that was absolutely outrageous! What did they think I want to do! Just let her live with the rebels now! Are they all idiots!

After lunch I went to go visit my mother. I knocked on her door. "Hello Mom" I say as I walk into her room.

"Hi sweetie" she says and pats the spot on the bed next to her for me to take a seat.

I do. I sit next to her and she looks me in the eyes "how is everything going honey?" She asks.

I break down. I lean into her shoulder and cry. "My whole world is falling apart! It's been almost a week since the wedding and through the course of that week America got sick, everyone has been stressed, and now America's gone!" I weep into her arm.

She rubs my back. "I know, I know." She says in a soft comforting voice. "Look at me" she says. I do. "We will find America and everything is going to be okay. I promise" she says.

I nod. Then I tell her my worst fear. "What if she is dead or something?" I say more tears streaming down my face.

She looks at the ground. "You can't think like that because you will drive yourself crazy" she says knowing me to well.

I nod, wipe the tears away and hug her "thanks mom" I say and leave the room.

I knew she was right but how could I help it. She was the love of my life. I would have nothing if I lost America. I slowly climb the stairs to my room. When I hear my name, I turn.

A guard in jogging towards me "yes" I say. He looks at me "I have a letter for you sir"

"Oh, thank you" he bows and leaves. I pray this is America writing to me telling me not to worry and that she escaped.

I read the letter.

My worst fear had come true.

It was not America writing to me to say she is okay.

She was dead.
