Chapter 30: The Pain

Ruhana opened the door, she held her hand assuming her to be Vikrant "light kholo na papa.. Please.."

Ruhana turned on the lights, she saw her breathing heavily and scareness was clearly visible on her face. Manvi eyed her and backed off, she looked here and there. She held her head as it spinned, she about to collapse on the floor but Ruhana held her on time.

"Mannu mannu"

Vineet said.. "Bed pe leta dete hai ise"

He helped her lay on bed. Ruhana wiped the sweat on her face, she eyed her emotionally.

"Ise injection de dete hai jo doctor ne kaha tha.." he said.

Ruhana nodded, he took out the injection from her medicine box and injected it in her arm as advised by the doctor.

She asked "tumhe lagana kaise aata hai?"

"Ek baar maa beemar hui thi.. Toh tab hi doctor ne sikhaya tha emergency mein zaroorat pade they" he replied..

Ruhana started caressing her head.. "Jante ho.. Bachpan mein ise kabhi andhere se darr nahi laga.. Meri strong manvi jisne ek criminal ko daudra diya wo aaj khud aaj.." she sighed..

"Tum fikar mat karo hum milke ise pehle jaisa bana denge.. Hamare pyar aur vishwas se" Vineet said.

Ruhana nodded in yes..

The next morning, Manvi opened her eyes. She went to the bathroom and freshened up. She came out and searched for her clothes. She remembered Aarav telling her, that her father had shifted to a new house.

She opened the wardrobe and found dresses mostly of Red color. She took out and threw them away, she pulled out a blue dress and went to the bathroom.

Ruhana entered in and picked up the dresses.

She remembered..

Manvi was searching for a dress to wear..

She scattered all the dresses, Ruhana came in and asked "Are saare faila diye.."

"Mumma where is my red dress?" she asked..

Ruhana searched for it and gave it to her..

"Aap na sab red dresses lao mannu ke liye ye baaki colors ache nahi lagte" she said

Ruhana smiled "okay.."

She left the room, Avni asked "mumma ye dresses wapas kyun le aaye?"

"Kyuki ab mannu ko red color acha nhi lagta ya kahun kisine uski zindagi ke sab rang khatam kar diye" she said with an angry tone..

"Koi nhi mumma.. Hum sab thik kar denge" Avni replied being her right hand.

Ruhana smiled..

She heard a noise from Manvi's room. She went and saw her sitting on the floor and crying. She moved but Avni stopped her and assured her she would check.

Avni went inside and asked.. "Kya hua manvi?"

Manvi pointed towards the broken trophy. It was Avni's old trophy as it was Avni's room and she forgot to hide her few things.

"Tod di.. Papa ne meri trophy tod di"

It seemed she assumed it to be hers..

"Pehle vinu papa ne meri fees nahi di.. Mumma se kaha toh unhone mujhe daanta mera theatre competition cancel ho gaya.. Uske baad ke saath main gayi maine socha wo mujhe theatre pe part lene denge par unhone mujhe dark room mein band kar diya.. Jab bhi maine zid ki.." she revealed with teary eyes.

"Pure 10 saal baad mere dost Aarav ne mujhe part lene kaha aur maine liya aur trophy bhi jeeti maine par papa ne tod di usko.. Sab rulate hai mujhe" she said..

Avni had tears in her eyes hearing it.

"Avni ko sab pyar karte hai par mujhe koi nahi karta.. Usne meri mumma bhi leli mujhse.. Sab jhoothe hai.. Sab jhoothe hai" she hugged herself and cried..

Avni ran out of the room crying.

Someone tapped her shoulder, she turned and it was Vineet. She hugged him tightly.. "Papa maine nahi chinni uski mumma usse.. Kyun bheja aapne use humse door?"

"Kya karte beta hum.... Koi rasta nahi tha tum janti ho na kitni ziddi thi manvi" Vineet replied..

Avni looked up at her and said "Toh aap chila dete uspe.. Daant lagate samajh jaati na wo"

Vineet wiped her tears.. "Avni jo hua use hum badal nahi sakte par sab thik kar sakte hai na..? Apne pyar ke riston se"

Avni nodded in yes..

Ruhana entered inside Manvi's room to give her the medicine.

Manvi hid seeing her, Ruhana assured her "Daro nhi.. Main bas aapko medicine dene aayi hun"

She kept the medicine on the table with a glass of water. She picked up the medicine and drank the water on top of it.

"Acha bahar aa jao lunch banaya hai maine" Ruhana said politely.

She denied..

"Papa daantenge" she replied..

"Aapke papa ne hi kaha hai ki main aapko khana khila dun" she said trying to convince her.

She seemed to be convinced and went out of the room with her. Ruhana smiled and thought "Vikrant thank you.. Tumhare naam ke darr se hi sahi par ye meri baat toh maanegi.."

She asked her to sit on the dining table, she poured kadhi chawal in the plate and mixed it.

"Khao tumhara favourite kadhi chawal"

Manvi recalled..

"Papa kadhi chawal banao na" she demanded.

"Nahi.. ye karela khao" he said..

"No papa kadhi chawal" she denied..

"Manvi papa ki baat mante hai ye khao" he forced her to eat karela and whenever she demanded kadhi chawal he did the same. After some time, due to fear she stopped demanding.

She stood up and denied eating.. "Nahi.. kadhi chawal nahi khana"

"Kyun?" she asked..

"Nahi khana.." she started to cry...

"Okay.. ro mat.. Sabzi roti bhi hai lo ye khao" she said showing her.

She sat down and started eating sabzi roti. Ruhana sighed in disappointment. She lost her daughter completely.

She used to argue but now she just cry.

After the food, she returned back to the room. Ruhana saw her lying on the bed and crying silently. Ruhana closed her eyes and let her tears flow down. She can't break at this moment, as her daughter needs her and she will put in all the efforts to cure her.
