Harry was walking to his classroom excited that he was going to receive a new class of students to teach or intimidate.
As he entered his classroom, he placed his bag on his desk and set up for the class. Music composition and theory. It was a well-attended class and the students wanted to impress Harry.
All things considered, he was a famous musician. Well, he was. But he realized that in his 26 years of living, he never was one for fame. He didn't mind being the center of attention but he didn't want people prodding into his personal business and he was never one for changing his method of work to "bring in money". And his manager told him he'd never make it, so he quit.
But that didn't mean he quit producing music. All around his lecture room were the artworks for tracks he's done with students in the past. Kiwi, Falling, Golden, Woman. They were all very different, but he liked it. Plus, it was more for the student's experience than his own.
He didn't have much planned for today but usually, on the first day, he simply introduced himself and got to know his students.
He looked at his empty classroom and smiled. Teaching honestly brought him satisfaction because for the thousands of superficial artists mass-produced in the music industry he was able to teach a few hundred he knew would eventually change the industry.
For him, the person who impacted him was his ex-husband, Louis Tomlinson. But it's been 6 years since Harry lost him and he couldn't find the time to entertain a relationship. Or he just refused to.
Students started entering his classroom and soon enough the lecture room was full.
"Welcome! My name is Harry Styles and welcome to Gender Studies, where we will dive into the impact on men and women all around the world in areas of Art, Literature, S.T.EM., etc, etc." He said and turned around. The students began murmuring in confusion.
"Gotcha," Harry smiled and the class laughed, mostly in relief. "No, no. If you want to know the negative impacts of man on the world, you're living it so that's that. This is music composition and theory!" He said and pointed to the screen showing his slides.
"I will try and make this worth your money but I mean, it's me so it's practically guaranteed." He said continued to introduce himself although they all knew who he was.
Usually, students were intimidated when meeting Harry, but anyone who actually got to know Harry, knew he was a sweet soul.
After a while, Zayn came into the lecture room. He tried to be on time but his date earlier ran a little longer than he was expecting.
"Thank you for joining us, sir!" Harry exclaimed and caught Zayn in his tracks.
The whole class looked at Zayn, he just nodded.
"Sit down, lad. I'm just poking fun at you. What's your name?" Harry laughed.
"It's Zayn Malik, sir." Zayn replied embarrassed he had to speak in front of the class.
"Welcome, Zayn. Well. Back to what I was saying," Harry said while Zayn made his way to his seat.
"I have an opportunity of a lifetime. At the end of the year, I will choose one student with whom I will write a song. I'm sure most of you knew this but it's truly amazing how tense it gets after I say it. It's like the Hunger Games, my god." He laughed.
This caught Zayn's attention. He knew Harry used to be a musician but he never really got into him. The class knew that to work with Harry was an amazing opportunity but they also knew it could break a student's career or by the testimonies of some, it diminishes your will to live.
Harry chose the student by what he observed from the student, sometimes the choice proved to be correct and sometimes not.
"Now," He grabbed his guitar and smile, "who wants to hear me sing?"
